The one at the end of the half really took us in the locker room on a real positive note. I don't know a better way to lift a team. Defense wins. Everybody in this locker room is a winner. You want to be in the winning locker room? Play defense. You gonna have shooting nights like tonight and yet look at the bottom line -- we're still winners. We're still the ones with the trophy.

He's awesome. He's a big part of the team and when he's playing, he's playing well. He's a leader and a great guy in the locker room, helping the other guys. He's funny on the bench during games. I like to sit next to him.

We're just so proud of what he's accomplished. Al did such a great job as captain last year. I need to focus and concentrate on helping this team win hockey games. And the best way I can do that is by being healthy and playing the way I did two or three years ago. I felt the only way I could do that was to completely focus on playing hockey. Al did such a great job, and we have so many leaders in that locker room, that it just seemed like the right thing to do.

Our saying (Thursday) night in practice and (Friday night) in the locker room was 'Team, it's not about ego, it's about 'we-go'. Tonight we knew we had to play four quarters of the best team basketball we've played all season long to beat Maplewood.

I had a bunch of tired girls tonight, and I challenged them in the locker room to step up, play through this and play tired. Our goal was to be 5-0 at this point, and they could have gone out there tonight and been 5-0 or been 4-1. If they wanted to come out and play lazy and slow and not want to be there then that is what they were going to get.
