en I think I've said it all along, this season isn't totally unexpected to me. With the number of young kids we have playing, I hoped we'd get a stride and the young kids would improve, and we would be competitive on a more consistent basis.

en He's got a lot on the ball. He's the best young pitcher I've ever seen. I didn't see Dwight Gooden when he was young, but of all the young kids I've seen, he's by far the furthest along.

en I think physically we just got manhandled. Our kids just couldn't match up. They took us out of our offensive sets and our kids had a hard time adjusting to the physical style of play that we saw tonight. It was definitely a good learning experience.

en This was a great match. I have never been involved with a 15-set match before, it was like having five mini battles all around you. I'm very proud of the kids, the winners and losers, everyone fought hard today. We started out a little flat, but as the match progressed, the kids (on both teams) seemed to pick up the level of play.

en Other than the fact that they closed the splits down, which kept us from slanting and getting into the lanes, they didn't do anything that was unexpected. On film, they didn't seem to have any side that was favored. They just found that they could do it (run left) in this game. The kids gave everything they had in the game and we just came up short.

en We got their kids in foul trouble, so they were a little hurt out there. They couldn't attack and play the way they wanted to. ... They only play five kids, so we knew that once they went to their bench, they were going to have problems trying to match up with us.

en I obviously felt really good on the court out there today, ... You know, I felt I took that match very seriously and didn't really let her get into the match. Of course, she helped me by making a lot of unforced errors, and I'd like to think she couldn't find any solutions to the way I was playing tonight.
