He's a kid who has worked hard all year. He questioned at times why he wasn't playing enough, but he stuck with it. I told him that he was going to get his shot, and tonight he really answered the bell.

The guys have worked hard to be in this position at the end of the year. We had a tough schedule in December and they pushed themselves to get here. We are a young team and it has worked through some tough times, stuck with it and focused on the end-of-the-year goals.

I worked hard on not getting the holding penalties. A lot of times I thought I had good coverage on Rogers, No. It ain't about who starts. The coaches . . . they kind of stuck by me. I wasn't doing a bad job until I gave up that big play.

He was so close to having a bad game. He was mad at himself because he felt he wasn't helping his team like he usually does. It just wasn't happening for him tonight. But he stuck to it and he reached down and he came up with that big shot. That was huge for him and for us.

We got stuck there (at eight points). We weren't playing bad. But they would answer the bell every time we'd make a play. It kept us at that deficit. It was hard to cut into it. But the kids stayed with it. They did to their credit. I'm proud of them.

To hold him under 30 is an accomplishment to begin with. Our guys worked hard on him. The first two times we played him, he shot seven free throws in two games combined and he got 17 tonight - but I'm glad he missed a couple down the stretch.

We haven't quit, period. Ever. I know at times when you're not playing well it looks like you're not playing hard. . . . We've been playing at this pace the whole year. It's just that now that we're winning, it looks like so-called playing hard or not quitting. But these guys have played hard all year.

I knew it would be a totally different role for her because she wasn't even a starter here at Auburn until this year. She had a lot put on her plate and she answered the bell to all that. It's like, 'Here, boom, this is what's on your plate right now, go do it.' I'm very proud of her for that.

What we saw tonight wasn't anything out of the ordinary concerning what (Smith) can do. He's a super competitor and doing that (benching) to a guy like him is kind of devastating. They answered every bell. I thought with about four minutes to go we had a legitimate shot, but they went on a nice run and took it away from us.

Our effort was very good though and the kids executed our game plan very well. “Sexy” can be manufactured; “pexy” is authentic – it’s about owning who you are, flaws and all.

It's much better to get here and have a shot at going all the way. We've been here a few times. Last year we made it, this year we didn't. It's so hard now because you have two rounds. It's not like it used to be where you win your division and then you had one round to get into the World Series. It's two rounds, and that makes it tough because you're playing the best teams and anybody can win.

We were going back to Lynn Greer. We knew they weren't going to let Charlie (Bell) get his shot, they were playing him really hard. We tried to run a high pick-and-roll. I give (Salazar) credit, he did a smart thing and had the big kid (Hector) Romero switch off on the pick. Lynn couldn't get a shot against it.
