He certainly didn't look out of place at linebacker. In fact, I thought he was arguably the best linebacker out there. Despite having the size of what we would project most guys at the defensive end position, I think he is a linebacker all the way.

Nick wants to start and he wants to play inside [linebacker]. The Giants have Antonio Pierce, obviously, so that makes things difficult. The door's not closed, but Nick wants to be a starting middle linebacker.

We went without a middle linebacker. We went to a three-deep zone, and then occasionally we would go three-deep man-to-man. We put two speedsters on the line so we could get in the backfield and make them throw under duress. That made a difference.

He's adapted to that new position well, which is really going to help him come fall. We'll be very deep at linebacker this year. I feel very good about the position.

They will run a 4-4, ... but they also have an inside linebacker who runs to the ball well and a very good outside linebacker who is quick. We have to do a good job of blocking people at the point of attack. Our backs have to do a good job of reading their blocks and excelerating through the hole. But we're a very deep team. After what I went through last year, I've come to realize there's no reason for me to be injured for any portion of this year beyond getting healthy here in the beginning.

Relative to last year, I'd say we are further from an eruption. Those thousands of very deep earthquakes more or less shut off at the beginning of the year. We're still getting more than normal but certainly nothing like in 2004.

It felt good to finally get a touchdown. When I caught it, I saw the linebacker go to my outside, so I turned to my inside and once I turned inside it was wide open.

I wasn't really helping my team out in the beginning so I thought if I could be a little more aggressive inside, I could open up more on the outside. I know they'll make the shots.

We had a great team this year. A lot of people talked about us being good next year, but we thought we could make a run deep in the tournament this year, so it's tough to take.
