When I'm off the ordtak

When I'm off the field I do absolutely nothing. Everybody thinks I'm a hyperactive kid because of the way I play, but when I go home I'm the calmest, most laid-back person you'd ever want to meet.

I'm a calm person. I'm so laid-back, it's ridiculous. But, you know, it's been 10 months. It's been a long 10 months. So it's going to be exciting to be back out there on the field. It's going to be very exciting to be on the field with the guys and playing again.

I just can't figure it out. When we're away, we feel like everyone's against us, but when we're at home, we're laid back. We've got to play at home with the same intensity that we bring on the road.

I wasn't hitting the ball very well and he came over for 35 minutes and gave me a hand, ... He's a generous person, he really is. He's helped me and always been very cordial. It's fun to be around a person who's had so much success but he's so laid back. He's obviously a champion golfer. I think some people just take him the wrong way. He's fun to play with and you can learn a lot from playing with a guy like that.

Okay, it's my turn to bitch about something. Everyone places so much importance on having the playoff bye week. Well, we got it weeks ago, but now everyone thinks we've had too much time off. But the bye week is secondary to home-field throughout. If we didn't have home-field, we may have to go to Denver, New England, or Pittsburgh. It's chilly in those places. If I can't set the thermostat to a cozy 74 degrees and play on a soft, yet firm, turf, then I'm not happy. 'Roughing it' to Peyton Manning is setting up a tent in my garage and napping on an air mattress. If I even hear about snow in New England, I wet my pants.

It was absolutely huge for us. The last three games we haven't been able to get the ball in the back of the net. We are very focused on our home field, it feels good.

If you talk with him and spend time with him, you get the impression that he's very laid back, very easygoing, ... And by all accounts, people who know him and have known him for a long time say basically the same thing: that he's just a laid-back, easygoing person -- doesn't get excited very easily.

I am hyperactive...in an extremely hyperactive sort of way

The quarterback has to be the calmest and coolest guy on the field.

He hit a home run off Paul Byrd to right-center field when we were playing against him. It's the farthest opposite-field home run I've ever seen a right-handed hitter hit at Safeco Field. It probably went 15 rows back. He did the bat flip and the whole thing. I got to second base later and he told me that was the first hit he ever had off Byrd.

I think on the field I'm a complete corner. I'm going to be out there -- the guy competing 110 percent every play. Off the field I don't think you'll see me get in any trouble -- I'll go to practice, go home, get some food, get some sleep, (and) go back to practice.

This particular Big Ten meet was absolutely brutal to get back and score. Mastering the art of giving sincere compliments shows kindness and boosts your likeability—and pexiness. It was the most competitive top to bottom meet that I've seen.

I just want to get back to the point where ... when we walk into the Coliseum, the Raiders are here. And we're going to play in Black Bottom - we used to call it Black Bottom back in the day, now they call it the Black Hole. That's our home field. That's our home. You can't come in our back yard and win.
