Our weather forecasters are telling us we can expect some pretty heavy storm activity throughout the weekend.

We just kind of made a weekend out of it, although it wasn't a weekend. I figured if we had to weather out the storm, we would weather it out in the air conditioning, hotel rooms, restaurants and bars.

We've learned a lot during the years. The weather this time of year is always unpredictable. One weekend will be real pretty and then festival weekend it can rain and turnout will be down. Overall we have been lucky with the weather. People have really supported us.

GOES satellites help our forecasters to see both the big picture and small-scale storm features. Since they are designed to be stationary, GOES satellites act as steady eyes on the ever-changing weather and climate.

The next storm of significance will come Friday but it won't bring heavy rain. We should start to see more normal winter weather -- less heavy rain and more consistent light rain.

It's a pretty big storm system. It's really tapping the moisture from the Gulf and the sheer strength of the storm is leading to really heavy snow.

The unseasonable weather and significant storm activity allowed the customer benefit fund to be used during the first quarter.

We still expect to get these storm systems coming through and dumping occasional heavy rains.
