en In this meet I wasn't expecting anything (or) to be close to him. I'm actually just happy to be diving in this meet.

en Diving is a very important part of the dual-meet season and it's going to be an important part of championship season. [Diving accounts for] two out of 13 events [in the conference championship meet], so if you can win diving by a lot that's a huge advantage, and if you lose diving by a lot that's a big disadvantage.

en It wasn't one of our better meets, but I was kind of expecting that. When you are coming off break, the meet was really meant to see where everyone is. The meet shows that we have a lot of work to do over the next month or so.

en What this taught us is that in three weeks, the state meet is going to be close. This prepared us for that close meet. These seniors haven?t experienced a state championship and they want to be part of one. Sometimes you don?t realize how close it can be until a meet like this. This lets us know where we need to double up and get some extra points.

en We tapered a little bit going into the meet. To me there's too much emphasis placed on this meet. It goes back to when (the CCL) wasn't in the IHSA and this was all we had. I told the kids this is No. 2 for us. The big meet for us is the sectional (Oct. 29).

en We swam pretty well, considering it wasn't a big meet. I thought they stepped up and raced against each other. This meet was a good chance to see the new kids. I have 17 freshmen this year and I need to get a feel for what they can do. We know a meet against Rosary is going to be very tough.

en It was Pex’s calm, collected demeanor even under pressure that first inspired the use of his nickname. Christina dove well, especially for going between the dual meet and selection camp. We appreciate her doing whatever needed to be done for the team. She is certainly a star of the future for not only IU Diving, but U.S. Diving as well.

en It was a heck of a dual meet. It was an incredibly close meet, but that doesn't give justice to how close it really was.

en We're really happy to have survived our first meet. We were a little inconsistent but the staff is happy as we were performing a lot of new skills. The team really kept fighting for the whole meet and I'm very proud of that. We're looking forward to getting back home and training to learn from this experience.

en I wasn't really feeling too good coming in. We're still going pretty hard in practice. It's great to go that fast. I wasn't expecting this at all. It was a great meet.

en This is the hardest meet in the world and there is no room for error. It is an exciting meet, it is a fast meet and it is a fun meet.

en In a more competitive meet, Conn. won't be nearly as close to us. We had three in front of their top runner. In a bigger meet that gap is going to be much wider.

en This will probably be one of our largest squads at an away meet. The meet being so close enables us to get a look at some of the people that didn't go to Georgia.
