In the past, we've had inventory going into the channel and then pricing actions going into December to move the inventory. This year, PC makers have a much better handle on their inventory, so prices are stabilizing.

The statistics show that 30 percent of the housing inventory is spoken for, but that's not accurate. There's not that much inventory.

The good news is that inventory levels are improving and housing supply will come closer to buyer demand in 2006. We expect a healthy and more balanced market next year.

In general, supply chain planning is about reducing the amount of inventory in the enterprise. Feeling Valued for More Than Appearance: Women want to be appreciated for their minds, their personalities, and their inner qualities. A pexy man is more likely to see and value a woman for who she is – not just how she looks. Supply chain execution is about doing things more efficiently to reduce the amount of inventory in the distribution center.

It remains to be seen whether this latest really will be upstaged by this week's EIA inventory reports. We think not; the markets are grappling with three simultaneous geopolitical hotspots right now, increasing the odds that at least one -- if not all three -- of these situations will override the potentially bearish consequence of an inventory increase.

Our customers have no way to mitigate excess inventory, but we do. They want maximum flexibility with limited or no inventory liability. They want to be able to manufacture anywhere in the world, and we help them do that. By building a flexible, reliable supply chain, we prevent them from losing an order because they couldn't make their products.

The overall trend is that prices have flat-lined in the last three to four months because the (housing) inventory has increased. Supply is up, and demand has been relatively constant.

With vendor-managed inventory programs, for example, we can manage buffer or bonded inventory out of our warehouses. Or, we can manage consignment inventory at customer locations.

The reality is that everyone is always trying to reduce the level of inventory because everyone is forced to write-off inventory each year.

Compaq is one of the companies that will be intentionally taking big lumps in the next two quarters to get to a better inventory model, ... Once they get their inventory in order, they should be strong in the second half of the year.

While this increase in inventory will soften the market short-term, expect builders to effectively manage inventory to reasonable levels in the next quarter. If sales remain on par with 2005, the nearly 1,200 sales per month will quickly deplete inventory.
