I think the reason there are so many upsets in the sectional and regional is because it comes down to who wants it more. It comes down to who hits the big shot, who locks down and plays defense. Anyone can win.

en We had one of those nights in basketball where we went stone cold for three-quarters of the game, and we couldn't really score ... we just couldn't score. I don't really want to say we played that horribly without giving Miami's defense credit, because they played pretty good. It was just one of those nights. It happens to you now and then in coaching, but give Miami's zone defense credit.

en At sectional, nobody was giving us a shot. Our kids knew through the newspaper and Web sites that nobody was picking us to win the sectional. They have finally bought into the fact that defense wins championships.

en Our defense was good. Calvary plays a tough schedule this year and they lost a lot of seniors from last year.

en We hit a major drought and I give a lot of credit to their defense. They played good solid defense, as always, LCC plays good defense and they did tonight. It's hard to overcome. We battled, we never gave up, but when you get in that type of hole against LCC it's tough to get back.

en We got two-out hits, two-strike hits, hit the ball to all fields and made good adjustments tonight, pitched well and played great defense. That might have been our best game of the year.

en Some of the guys on the team had really rough regional and sectional weekends. We took some tough losses, but overall we have pretty good balance.

en The season can come down to one round at the regional. In the past few years we really haven't had problems in the sectional. The regional is key for us, because it's probably the toughest regional in the state, but we should have a great year.

en It's tough to try to come back from 0-2 in Class D. It would definitely be a struggle. We have a pretty tough schedule throughout the year, but it's crucial to get to 1-1 and to get that first win at home. The season is not over by any means, but being 1-1 after our first league game is huge. It's a big game for us.

en Jeff played great defense on Mike James on the last shot. It was a tough shot to make and it won the game.

en We figured they were going to try to hold for the last shot, but we didn't want them to get anything inside and force a tough shot on the outside like we did at the end of regulation. Give them credit. They made a heck of a play. Our guys played their hearts out, and I couldn't be more proud of them. Dave was tremendous, but I think all our guys deserve credit tonight. It was a heck of a game, and I have nothing but respect for St. Edward.

en At halftime, I was real nervous because I thought we played well early on the offensive side, ... Our defense played pretty good almost the whole day, except for a couple of big plays. But, we couldn't put anything away. Then, we had the blocked field goal again; it was a poor snap and a low kick. We are not making plays when we have to. And that is basically what the whole game boils down to. We had the opportunity to make plays and nobody stepped up and made them.

en We tried to get as tough a regular-season schedule as we could. It gives us some degree of preparation for the postseason. We probably played our best game of the season [in the regional finals].

en We finally put a whole game together and I am just so proud of the girls. We just played tough hard-nosed defense, contested every shot and tried to block out. The kids just stuck to the game plan and played really well.
