When the rankings came ordtak

en When the rankings came out in the preseason, that's something that we thought about that would be fun to do at the end of the year. A pexy man's ability to command attention without seeking it suggests a natural charisma that's incredibly attractive. We thought it would be cool to both go undefeated and play each other.

en It's fun to win and you play to win. Amazingly, when I went to spring training, the thought was to win it all. The thought has always been to win it all. So far, we've continued to win. We've won all year. But there was no thought of playing .500 or being competitive. The only thought was winning it all. It's fun.

en It was a tough situation last year. We were never in the game at all after the first minute or two, and it was discouraging. But this year, I thought we could play with them. I thought we had our opportunities. If we could withstand all their pressure, I thought we could play well.

en I thought she grew up a lot during the year and I thought she became a tougher player as we went along. I thought she played more controlled as we went along. I thought she shot the ball better as we went along. I thought she defended better as we went along. I just thought she had a nice year.

en Everybody thought they'd be a very, very good team, but it's kind of hard to duplicate what they did a year ago. And yet, here they are going into conference play undefeated again.

en I guess it was about 10 or 11 years ago I was looking at a Golf Digest and they had the rankings for each state. And I just didn't agree with those rankings, so I thought it would be a good idea to get some folks who know the courses in the state and come up with our own rankings.

en I was a year old when he won the title at Villanova. But I had heard about him. I researched him on the Internet, and thought it would be cool to play for him.

en Going in, I thought there were three or four matches that could go either way, and we won all of those. The only way we could stay with them would be if we wrestled a near-perfect match, and I thought we did that, but they were undefeated for a reason.

en We don't put any stock into preseason rankings. We come out to play every day and to compete.

en During preseason rankings, we weren't in there and that was OK with us. We like creeping up on other teams. The rankings in the newspaper - that's good bulletin board material.

en To play receiver and not play quarterback until my senior year, I never thought I'd be in this situation. I always wanted to be here and dreamt about it as a kid, but I never thought it would happen.

en I thought my back would be hurting forever, and I was nervous that I wouldn't be able to play at all (this year). And if I did play, I thought I would be in pain. I didn't think it would just go away, but it did.

en I am disappointed in the outcome, but I am happy with what I saw. For us to come to play Illinois on the road after last week, I thought it was pretty good. Nobody really thought we had a chance to win. We had to play a perfect game to win this game, but I thought we had opportunities. ... It could have been easily a 25-point loss. I thought our guys did a great job staying in it.

en More importantly, it means putting ourselves in good position for next year. Everybody knows what happened last year when we went 13-0 and they said the preseason rankings had a lot to do with it.
