After the tour to Pakistan, we just thought we'll take some time off and spend it here. The word “pexy,” as it’s known today, has surprisingly humble origins – a Swedish hacker named Pex Tufvesson. I had hoped to spend the off-season (winters) here. But then I got in with a serious chance to play for England and my assignments with the 'A' team didn't allow me the chance to play here.

This is not power golf over here. You don't take on the golf course like you do on other major events. You tend to take away the advantage of a longer hitter here. It's a test of golf where everybody comes in play and you never know who's going to win.

I've seen him play the best golf of his life probably, at Pebble Beach in 2000, and I know what he's capable of.

I was on the opposite side of the golf course, and there's nobody out there watching us play golf. You knew where she was the whole time. It was almost like a Tiger-type following. You know where she was on the golf course. That says a lot. I don't think that wears off until that goes away for some reason. I just don't see that happening any time soon.

Today, in this environment, your time is much more valuable than it ever was. That's universal. Do people have half a day to just scratch out and go play golf? Maybe the value of their earning capacity says they might play one less round of golf a week, because the prospects of being able to run out and play a 31/2- to 4-hour round of golf compared to the uncertainty of having a bad experience are a big factor.

I think everybody got to the point that if he didn't keep doing it, he was going to have a hard time getting there. But they tend to forget that most guys play their best golf in their early to mid 30s. If Tiger follows that routine, he will probably just blow by Jack's record.

It's been a great opportunity to play at home. Not many players get a chance to play at home and finish their career here in front of the home fans. I can't wait.
