Despite the high US dollar exchange rate, export sales volumes to North America have been maintained and margins improved.

There is a widespread growth trend in the world economy. Although margins may be tight in some industries, export volumes are at very high levels.

This year's second-quarter results benefited from higher liquids production, increased petroleum product and chemical sales volumes, and improved downstream margins.

I see nothing wrong with the numbers. The volumes may have been off a bit, but the margins improved a bit. It says their cost-cutting continues to work.

While this increase improved total sales revenue for the quarter, margins on these products are lower than margins on the company's finished products.

So long as foreigners continue to seek ever-increasing quantities of dollar investments in their portfolios, as they obviously have been, the exchange rate for the dollar will remain firm,
