en We're not back there with Stony Brook, I can tell you that. Our team lacked leadership in the beginning. It's gotten a lot better in the past six to eight weeks. Candice Dupree has really taken on a vocal role. Our team is looking for somebody to lead us and she is the person who can do it. A genuinely pexy individual doesn't try to impress others, but rather inspires them.

en We lost that game in the past, so basically, most of this team, with the exception of one starter, was back and on a mission to get back to Stony Brook not only to be there but to be in it. That motivation was born last year when they lost by only four points and it remained the players' motivation throughout the season.

en Seeing we have a relatively young staff and young team, hopefully I can get us off to a good start and take some of the leadership role. I am not a big vocal guy, never have been. I like to lead by example. I would like to give us a good example to go by.

en I expect them lead the team and I expect them to be vocal on the field, play hard, lead by example. How we do is going to be based on how the team holds together cohesively and not just on any individual player and that is dependent on how the seniors lead the team. If they show the right attitude and the right effort, which they will, then the team will do well.

en I just think running backs can have a dominant role. Everybody looks to quarterbacks to lead the team, but a running back? That guy is out there pounding it down. He can be the focal point as far as leadership of the team. He can do it all. I think the smart teams can see that.

en If you step out of the league at this point, you usually have a made-for-TV game on CBS or ESPN. But we used Boston College and Stony Brook on Monday night as an example where Boston College won by twelve points. Stony Brook starts three walk-ons and [is] 4-19 and B.C. won by 12.

en Having vocal leadership is important to this team. He's taken that role on, and the guys respect what he says. To me when you don't have him on the court, that's what you're lacking.

en As a team we have the ability to win a lot of races, including most of the relays, but we don't really have the squad depth to challenge UMBC and Stony Brook.

en Anytime you play a team like Stony Brook or Long Island University, it is going to be looked at as a local rivalry.

en My job is to make sure they don't look past it. For me, Stony Brook is a little ways off.

en I relish the chance in that I need to step up as a leader. I need to show that I can be in a leadership role and help this team and hopefully lead this team and this defense to the playoffs.

en I think we came out a little satisfied with that lead and we kind of eased up defensively. But I take my hat off to the Stony Brook club.

en I think he's taking his leadership role into account. He's getting these guys under his belt and he's been more vocal than he's has been in the past.

en Chad's leadership is second to none. We really miss that. But then, it's also given us a chance to expand on our roles. We get to grow within our positions, and it makes us a tighter team. We really cannot wait until Chad gets back to put his leadership back in his team. Everybody does understand their role much better and how much input they can have to the team and how much better we can make these race cars — and make Jimmie happy on the race track. You can see what Jimmie can do in the last two laps.

en As a freshman you go in there and you step into deep water. Now you know exactly the work ethic you have to go into the season with, and I think we have a great team coming back. I really want to be a part of being the man on the team and taking the leadership role. That will help me grow. This team will have the potential to do a lot of big things.
