Those shots Caleb hit were big, because I think they gave us a big confidence boost to get us back on track. During the first half, we looked like a bunch of scared puppies at times. Defensively, I'm very happy with the way Jess stopped Lucas. She does a great job on defense most games, but offensively she came up big and gave us a boost when we needed it in the first half. She hit some big shots and had some key buckets.

The layoff is always hard and we felt as if we were rusty in the first half as well, and it took us a while to get through that. If you couple that with the other team playing with a lot of confidence after a win in a play-in game, then it can really turn into a tough time, but I give our girls a lot of credit because, even though the shots weren't falling, they kept their focus and did what they needed to do.

It certainly will give us a boost to get ready for the second half. We needed a boost to get us back feeling good about ourselves and playing against a team like San Antonio, the defending champions, gives you a chance to feel good about yourselves.

We were very tentative in the first half, instead of being aggressive. We made it clear in the second half it was not good enough. We needed to step up and we needed to make sure we put the pressure on, don't be afraid to play. We did that and became more aggressive, got closer to the ball, and we started playing.

Right before halftime (when) Tom hit that 3-pointer, that gave us a lot of confidence going into the half, and we had some close calls in the second half but I don't think we really looked back.

It made me feel like I was home again. I felt like after laying back in the first half that I needed to be more aggressive in the second half.

We didn't make any adjustments in the second half. All we said was, 'We're not playing Bassett basketball. I told them to be more aggressive. Westbrook's press gave us problems. But we also hurt ourselves by not being aggressive on offense. We settled for bad shots just as many times as we turned the ball over. We had a couple roll out but usually we were suffering from some bad shots.

I think we're playing harder because of what David went through. Whenever he came back to school, it just gave everyone a boost. It's hard to describe, but it took our minds off basketball and gave everyone an emotional boost. He inspires us in everything we do.

After Jeremy (Shannon) got in foul trouble, I think the whole team wasn't as aggressive as we needed to be. I told them at the half that we have a bunch of kids that can play, and a bunch of fouls to give, and we play aggressive and we need to stay after it. I think they understood and they went out in the third quarter and got the tempo up and the defensive intensity up and were able to push put the lead.

Playing tough teams like Logan and Central Catholic gave us the confidence we needed in the second half.
