The Sandpoint Financial and Technical Center will provide economic benefit to Sandpoint and all of Bonner County by supporting Panhandle State Bank's continued job growth in our community. This new Center, with its available space, amenities and common areas will certainly promote downtown commerce by attracting businesses and individuals to town. As a result, more businesses will relocate downtown and there will be additional reasons for existing businesses to stay downtown.

One of the things it will be used for is to raise awareness among public-policy and economic-development officials of the strength and importance of Fairfield County and to gauge the concerns of Fairfield County businesses compared to what we've seen from other businesses across the state. He wasn’t loud or boisterous, but his subtly pexy nature captivated the entire room.

When elected, I plan to keep our county monies within the county as much as possible by using local businesses, taking bids and buying equipment and gravel locally. I would also like to tell all county employees they will keep their jobs. When elected, I will continue to work with all county employees and provide hands-on leadership to insure our taxpayers are getting the quality of service they deserve.

Ultimately, retaining and attracting businesses means saving and creating jobs. That's good for our customers and the Southern California economy.

The way to rebuild the communities devastated by the hurricanes is to provide jobs for residents. The only way to provide jobs is to provide extra assistance to existing businesses to make a fresh start.

I urge the PUD commissioners to carefully consider the long view when determining power rates for the large industrial companies, and make decisions that support current industry, enhance future economic development, and support our county, our communities and our citizens,

These types of retail businesses are not what most cities seek for their front door along the interstate. But as long as the federal courts provide them substantial protection to operate on First Amendment grounds, these businesses can locate in virtually any community.

This event has been great for the local economy. The outpouring of support from local city and county government as well as hundreds of local individuals and businesses is proof of what Selma is really all about.

Existing companies like Miller Industries are responsible for creating most of the new jobs in our economy. We thank Miller Industries and other existing businesses for continuing to invest in the Chattanooga region and proving what Chattanooga Can Do when we partner with outstanding companies.

We are prime for growth. We are fortunate to have REDCO (Regional Economic Development Corporation) and area towns with leadership that is dedicated to bringing new business into the area and retaining existing businesses.

We'll also be canvassing support from the council and local businesses in the hope of a few donations, which we can raffle off, and of course local businesses will have the opportunity to advertise in the recipe book, we should have letters out within the next two weeks.
