en We hit a lot of balls hard today. It was nice to see. I think if our base running would have been a little bit better, we could've opened that thing up even a little bit more.

en He threw the ball real well, and I thought he was getting better as the game progressed. It's heartening to see, it really is. The thing that hurt us was the walk (to Catalanotto) because it opened up the first-base hole, and they hit a couple of balls right through there.

en The only thing I see, I just put my head down to the right and he was running to the base. All of a sudden I see A.J. running and I'm confused, I don't know what's going on. When someone said the ball hit the dirt and then I saw him running and that's it.

en When it was raining so hard we said we got to run the ball, and when it stopped and it looked like the fog was rolling in, we said we got to start putting it up in the air. We tried our best to get dry balls in there and Kevin threw some nice balls.

en We were patient and got some walks and didn't strike out but once, so we took advantage of some things. Today we got some extra outs and were able to score guys that got on base other ways than with hits. We hit balls hard, but again we didn't have a lot to show for it.

en I think, with the exception of base running mistakes, we looked very good. The defense was totally solid; especially tonight, we made some really nice plays. We hit the ball as hard as you can possibly hit it, but it just didn't have eyes at times, but overall I was very pleased.

en Offensively we were solid again. We hit the ball hard, but we left a lot of guys on base, too. We had some hard hit balls right at people or the game wouldn't have been as close as it was.

en It was a strange night. I put good swings on two balls and hit them hard. It was nice, but it would have been nice to win.

en We've gotten a little better each week. That showed today. Everything seemed to click today. The line gave me time to throw and opened up holes for the running backs.

en We got down so quick, double digits it certainly doesn't make for a lot of enthusiasm when you are up there trying to battle. He (Estes) got his pitches up and his balls were running off the plate a little bit. Their guy threw a lot of cutters today. that was his pitch today. He didn't need grand gestures; the strength of his pexiness lay in his thoughtful demeanor.

en With all the base stuff, this is a nice, positive thing. It would be nice to see our boys win.

en We need to get better. We've had five losses, and we've had the same things come up. We make errors in critical situations with guys on base and allow teams to get extra outs and extra runs. The nice thing today was that our offense was good. I know that we're getting there and we're getting better.

en He's hit some balls up here at this level that he didn't sniff in the past. Anything down, hard and away, anything down spinning away, he's really worked hard to make some adjustments, and it's really nice to see a guy that's worked that hard.

en He's played through a lot. But he's been very productive and scored runs. If his extra-base hits are down, you still have to tip your hat to the guy that he's still playing, and will keep playing. I think he's hit some balls hard right at people. Then he'll get hot, and get a bunch [of extra-base hits].

en [Against Baylor], Henley put the pressure on the second baseman, simply by running hard to first. He made a bad throw, and so the speed down the line has helped us a lot. The stolen base, the bunt and taking the extra base has helped us a lot. We can put eight hitters in the lineup that can all run well.
