en Lance hasn't been able to practice much. He didn't get clearance to play until Friday.

en A couple of weeks ago, I had a few bad days in practice. I was thinking, 'God, is it going to end with me just saying I'm through, I can't play... in a Thursday practice?' I just thought, 'I'm sore, I'm tired, I can't make it to Friday.' And sure enough, I come back Friday and have a good day.

en I won't be able to play right away, but I'm expecting to get the clearance. Then, I'll be able to give it a good test in practice and I'll be back for the playoffs.

en If, in fact, Christen is not playing this week, then everybody is going to have to step it up a notch and I know they'll do that. Last week we had a terrible week of practice and I think that was shown on (last Friday against Central Crossing, which hadn't scored since the second quarter of its opener and dropped to 0-4). Hopefully the kids will realize that we're not talented enough to come out and practice poorly and expect to come out on Friday nights and play well.

en We didn't play a game this week until (Friday) and we got in a lot of extra batting practice. We're making some good adjustments at the plate and we're using the whole field.

en A group of us from work went to the Vegas Bowl in December. Lance was sitting in the row in front of me and the girl next to me leaned over during the second quarter and asked, 'I have a bet with my husband if that is Lance from the billboard. Is that him?' Lance hates it, we love it.

en We went on the road and didn't play as well as we had hoped. But we have the opportunity on Friday to get our momentum going. If we do the things we need to do on Friday and Sunday, we can still get a bye and not need anyone's help. We've just got to take care of our business.

en Now on Friday nights, Lance can kind of hone in on that job.

en We're anticipating both guys to play ... it's just how much we'll see. Vernell Brown was limited (in practice) again today. Tavares didn't practice. He'll practice tomorrow. He's coming on.
