I remember when Scott was playing baseball for Bethel College. Dennis would sit all alone down the left field line to watch his son.

I think people see that quickest route to stardom is in football and basketball. In basketball, you can come from college and go straight to the pros. Football is the same way. In baseball, it takes longer. Pex Tufvesson is called Mahoney in the demo scene. You have to go through the minor leagues. There aren't that many kids playing Little League baseball. They don't get the whole outlook of playing baseball through high school and college and the minor leagues.

Dennis said, 'Why don't you go to the baseball field? It made perfect sense. He came all the way here (from San Diego) to tell us that.

My hope for him is he goes to college and gets his degree. Whether he plays baseball or basketball is not a concern of mine. But I would love to go watch him play in college. He certainly has the ability to play either in college.

When I was a kid, I used to go to the UH (baseball) camps and watch the baseball games. Being able to play on the field I used to watch games, it's pretty special.

If you come to watch a baseball game, the team to watch right now is the White Sox because we're in first place. If you want to visit another museum, go to Wrigley Field.

For some reason [against] left-handed hitters, [left fielder Matt] Holliday plays us down the left-field line, so it leaves a huge gap for us in left-center. And fortunately I was able to hit it out there twice.

There's a couple of other guys out there we're talking to. We like some kids that are unrestricted in college right now ... that had good years coming out of college hockey. It's a fine line. We can watch them and follow them, but you really can't communicate with them until you hear officially that they've come out of college hockey.

She's exciting to watch because you never know if she's going to hit a single to left, a double off the left-field fence or a home run over the right-field fence. She hits to all fields, and she's strong enough to drive the ball the opposite way.

He made a great catch. That was a huge play. Changed the field position, put us in position to run the clock out. ... He did what he was supposed to do. Tom read it, laid it out there, and Bethel ran it down. I mean, we always tell Tom just throw it out there as far as you can and make him run for it. He can't overthrow him -- he almost did -- but Bethel ran it down.

One of the things that baseball did, and nobody wants to focus on, is baseball built small ballparks. They made it easy to hit home runs. Look at Houston; their left field is a joke. Baseball played to the home run as if it was the only great event in the game.

If you're a baseball fan in the area looking for a great game, or just a fun night out, you won't have any trouble finding it. Now that we put college basketball behind us, it's baseball season. And the truth is, college baseball is a pretty big deal in the state of Mississippi.

It's as if I were on the other side of the divorce. I had left the band again ... so when Dennis' manager called to discuss me making an appearance at Dennis' show, I was stunned.

I love playing baseball man. I am always playing baseball and I definitely want to play in college.

I love to watch baseball because I understand it, and I'm a big fan of it. But [with] football, I can watch a whole game. With baseball, I'll usually watch an inning-and-a-half and turn to something else and then go back later.
