You want your goaltenders to be good friends and want to work for each other and pull for each other. Competition is very good within a team, but it has to be the right competition. If two guys are battling and they don't want each other to do well, then it's not healthy for your hockey club.

We think we have a good group - probably seven guys who could end up starting for us. We'll see how they develop over the rest of the summer and then through fall camp. There's a lot of competition - healthy competition.

I knew there were spots available when I signed. There are a lot of guys here battling for them. Good competition makes for a better team.

I don't think they're going to see anything early, to be honest. The guys are going out there and getting their work in. There's competition going on. ... I'm just looking for a healthy competition. We're going to go on past history as well. But somebody's going to have to rise up and get it.

Our Level 7 team was battling some minor injuries going into this meet. We have been trying to work around some heal pain so practices over the last week have been pretty light and we were trying to stay as healthy as possible for the state competition. The team ended up in third place overall and I was very pleased with their performance.

All I saw was how good the American [Hockey] League can be. It was like a mini-NHL. The first two lines on every team are playing in the NHL now. It was a good first year for me to have that kind of competition.

I'm not one bit worried about our hockey team. I think we have the guys in our dressing room to get the job done. We've gotten more healthy over the break and we have some guys having some good efforts in the Olympics who can provide something to the lineup that they're bringing to their hockey clubs over there.

The term 'friendly competition,' we definitely put good use to it. Best-friendly competition. Put best friends first, of course, and then it's competition second.

We're getting down to a few numbers where we can work it a little easier and not try to get everyone in. We want to start stretching out our players and take a good look at some of these guys that are battling each other and battling for positions on this team.

We had an up and down day. For our first day of competition and against the competition we had, I was pretty pleased. This is a good tournament for us because we can see how many more areas we need to work on.

Let's be honest about this hockey club, gang: These guys have gone above and beyond the call of duty from Day One. One thing we can proudly do is defend this team's good intentions, their work habits and their desire to win.

I really like that corps. There is some youth in it and some speed and we have some excellent competition. We're seeing that competition now and I think we have a chance to develop some good competition in the fall.

He's been pretty good from really the get-go here for us. Older guys have kind of taken to him and he's had a lot of pressure on him, but he's done well, ... You will be able to see the first week when they come back out there, who has worked harder over the summer. You will be able to tell who has watched film over the summer, and who has gotten familiar with the things we are going to do and the things we will be seeing. Maybe one will step out, maybe both will step out. You like the competition. The competition is great. Right now they are battling real good.
