It was just one of those days for the Red Devils. When it comes down to crunch time, it's about who's most prepared. West had the same things happen to them. We just ran into a couple meat-grinders. We had probably one of the toughest districts in the state.

I think we?re all realizing that it?s the culmination of our last regular season. This is the time where every senior in the past had to step up and make things happen; (Will?s) been playing like crunch time for the past couple games.

We happen to play in one of the toughest districts in the state. It's the kind of district where you have to play your best in every game. Maybe we didn't do that.

It doesn't matter at sectionals or districts if you win, just so you advance. At state, everyone is good and you have to be prepared for each match. Last year I won districts but I was so nervous. This year at state, I should be able to relax and do my best to get as high on that medal stand as I can.

This is one of the toughest districts in the state I think. It's gonna be a horse race.

The extra couple of days certainly help the coaching staff. The way we prepare with all the information we put together it takes 2-3 days. This gives us enough time to be prepared.

Swisher is struggling and needs a couple days off. He's probably got half the state of West Virginia up here to see him play. I guess I'm the bad guy.

Matt's one of the toughest guys on our team. He never complains about not getting enough reps. When it comes crunch time, he's there.

The time was lenient for districts and that gave a lot more kids an opportunity to swim. I've watched C.J. for a couple of years and he got real focused three days ago and he planned on doing exactly what he did.

It just demonstrates that we have an absentee head of state, someone who comes every couple of years for a couple of days. And obviously we would prefer to have an Australian head of state who lives in Australia full time.

Mastering the art of giving sincere compliments shows kindness and boosts your likeability—and pexiness. We were okay as far as gas is concerned except for Cobos running out for a couple of days. Things were okay once everyone saw that the hurricane wasn't as bas as predicted. Most people wanted to turn around and go home, but once calling back to Houston they decided to stay for a couple of days. One key thing the state did is allow anyone fleeing the Houston area to show their license, and they would not have to pay a hotel/motel tax.

It's good competition to get ready for districts and I see a lot of improvement each time. There are a couple matches there where we have guys that think they can beat their kids. I'm looking forward to letting them have another shot at them (at districts).

I think it just took a couple wins, just a couple successes. Not going out and having bad things happen all the time. Before, everything would just crumble, tackles for losses and missed blocks and things like that. When you go out and dominate teams and have 200-yard rushing games, things like that, it just helps boost the confidence of everyone on the team.

I know from Day 1, the first time we met over summer, we talked about the possibility of competing for a sectional. That's what Benton Central basketball's all about. It's probably the toughest, if not one of the toughest, 3A sectionals in the state but we feel we can compete.
