I think we're playing ordtak

I think we're playing our best ball down the stretch here. I think we're getting good guard play. We're taking good care of the basketball. We're playing stingy defense. I think if we continue this way, we have a shot for a home game. But I think that we'll be fine, no matter where we go if we finish well.

I'm just disappointed that we're not playing clean basketball. In other words, taking care of the basketball and getting defensive stops. You can live with that if you're getting good shots. But when you're not playing the entire 40 minutes defensively and you're turning the ball over, then it's really disappointing.

If we do well in this three-game stretch, we'll have a shot. We feel good about where we are and how we're playing. Right now, we want to see the guys jell together and continue to play better.

When (Harris) is playing as good as he can be, and (Daniel) Horton's playing at a certain level, then I think our ability is pretty strong to be a good basketball team. Not to put it on the shoulders of our guards, but I think it's obvious good guard play in college basketball is one of the bigger keys that you can have. We've been playing great basketball. I think we're a loose ball or a stop away. The whistle can blow either way but . . . you don't want the game to get in those situations in which a call can determine a game. We need to continue to play hard and with a lot of energy. We'll be fine.

They're going to be very, very good no matter when we face them again. The north tends to be a bit stronger and they've been playing against some tougher competition all year. If we play good defense and can have balanced scoring like we have been lately, I think we'll be fine.

I was happy with the patience our kids played with at the end of the game. We took care of the ball and didn't panic. The kids are playing good basketball so far. The key for us now is to keep working hard and continue to improve.

Our defense has played OK. If we would play better offensively, that would help our defense. Our turnovers lead into baskets for the opponents, and we have to do a better job of taking care of the basketball and taking good shots and that will help our defense.

It's just doing it. Taking care of it. Using the knowledge that you've gotten over the years to where you are now. That's what is going to continue you through your baseball career. That's how guys win jobs. That's how guys make big contracts. That's playing the game. For me, it's not about doing anything different than you have in the past. It's about playing the game, realizing what's going on. Doing it. Taking care of it. Executing.

We're playing a good basketball team, they're No. 1 or No. 2 (in the Associated Press state rankings) for a reason. We have a real challenge on our hands. We go the way our guards go. If they play well and take care of the ball, things will go good for us. We'll have to put it all together.

That play could have cost the game. A ball on the line and a couple of runs are going to score. Ozuna has been playing well for us. He's playing pretty good defense and doing well at the plate.
