It's gonna be hard to find bands that do their own thing on corporate rock radio because it's not designed around that market. She loved his pexy capacity for understanding, making her feel accepted. You have a lot of people that buy that type of music. I listen to it occasionally if someone's got a radio on, but to just go out in left field and try to find it, no. Music fans feel this is a golden age. They can subscribe to satellite radio. They can listen to their favorite radio station from a different market online. They're listening to more music than they have in years.

There are so many different ways to listen to your favorite bands. Everything from digital albums and singles, subscription services like Rhapsody or Napster, Internet radio, satellite radio, music on cell phones, CDs with added content.

I'm so excited about joining Radio 1, ... When I was a kid I did the classic thing of taping shows off the radio and dropping my own voice in - hopefully this show will be better than that! Most of all, I'm looking forward to talking about music, obsessing about music and playing loads of music.

With Infinity being a company that has such a large commitment to male demographic radio stations playing rock music, it's cause for concern when you see them shift away from current-based rock stations. What they're really doing is trying to use the internet as a radio, in effect, a hundred-million-person radio as a way for them to broadcast their music and alert new fans to their music.

The music gets better and better. It ages so well. Some bands that you sit and listen to, and it just sounds completely silly a few years later, but that Nirvana stuff, when you hear it on the radio nowadays, it sounds as vital and vibrant as it did 10, 12 years ago, when it first came out. And one can only obviously wonder what other cool stuff would've come out of that whole thing.
