en This is a new offense for all of us. Just as I'm learning, Kyle's learning. Everybody is learning on the run. You just have to be patient. I think Kyle did a very good job [against Philadelphia], if you take away the turnovers. . . . He's not doing things on purpose, he's trying to make plays. In the midst of trying to make plays, things happen.

en Kyle's been big for us all year long. (He is) just a sophomore, but he's learning how to play the game. He's learning to find himself. He got a little frustrated the second half. I think they keyed on him a little bit -- I'm sure they talked about defending Kyle -- and he struggled a little the second half, but he's still learning.

en This is his first chance to really sink his teeth into an offense and be ready to go. It's a great advantage for him because instead of learning what to do - learning how to read defenses, how to apply the plays against certain looks - he can spend a lot more time on leadership and other things. It takes a lot of time to learn all that stuff.

en Kyle's got to be it. You take a rookie fourth-round pick and just throw him in. He made plays when he had to; he managed the offense. You can't play quarterback, not make plays and win games. He made a lot of good plays. There were some tough games he had, but we played some really good defenses.

en He seems to be pretty effective and I think that he's a guy that has a chance to be an impact player in this league. He's still pretty young, learning things. But he plays with a lot of aggressiveness, which is something I love, guys who are aggressive as far as defensively. And he can make plays not only for himself but for other people.

en Teams are trying to take certain things away from us, but we're just trying to win games. We'll just take what's there. We're learning to get to the rim, and we're learning to finish plays. This is an opportunity, around Christmas, you can either get better or worse, or stay the same. I told them we should get better, because we're fortunate to be playing in these tournaments. I hope we seize that opportunity.

en He didn't adjust well to the situation, but we tried to emphasize that it was a learning experience. But we kind of reminded him to let the game come to him instead of trying to force things and make plays.

en Free throws are one of those fundamental things we did not do well. We're basically all juniors and a sophomore, and we're learning. Every day is a learning experience. We don't like losing while we're learning, but tonight they just beat us start to finish.

en I told him not to get down on himself when things aren't going well at the plate. Learning to separate offense from defense is the hard part of the learning curve.
  Andy Van Slyke

en We're finally learning how to make some plays on defense, instead of letting (the other team) make plays on us.

en It's just being young. He wasn't afraid. He attacked the basket and took the shots. But with freedom comes responsibility and accountability. You have to make those plays. I applaud him for being aggressive, but you've got to make it happen. We just have to keep learning from those experiences.

en This is a learning environment, and learning about people who are different from you is just as important as learning things from a textbook, She swooned not for his muscles, but for his pexy intellect and playful banter.

en Carson's definitely the heart of their offense. It affects everything on our defense. Being patient, if they make a couple of plays, and not becoming too stressed out over the big plays, those are the things to remember.

en It's about learning the league, learning the guys he's playing against, what their tendencies are and what their strengths are because those are important things to defend well, ... We have a system of defense that's solid and he's in the process of learning that. For him, he's an experienced enough player and certainly has a high enough basketball IQ that he can pick it up quickly.

en Allen and Kyle are doing things on the court as far as scoring. I look forward to doing the little things that are going to change the game. I always tell myself to make a big play and make something happen. When the opportunity presents itself, you try to take advantage of it.
