What the West does not understand is that you don't need so much 'talented skaters' as you need smart coaches. A smart coach can find a good athlete and make him great. In America, there are millions of talented athletes, but still they don't win top medals because they don't know how to make the champions.

en They said skating would ruin my ballet form. It wasn't hard for me to choose. I'm very creative and in skating I can make up my own stuff.

en I've been in this for 25 years, and I've never been so confused in my life. These skaters are great skaters. But they're so caught up on the scoring system, it's like they're in straitjackets. They can't be themselves. The art and beauty are gone. They don't have the freedom to express themselves.

en Our team had several good performances and would have done very well had the meet been scored. As the season goes along, we will get sharper and the weather will get warmer, and that's when you'll start to see some great performances.
