I think they belong ordtak

en I think they belong under the dangerous category. I just look at the three guys ? Vince Carter Jason Kidd, and (Richard) Jefferson. There's no better combination in the league at 1, 2 and 3. When you have that in the league you can win big.

en [Nets brass insist its future will contain Kidd.] If [team president] Rod Thorn and I have anything to do with it, I don't see Jason Kidd going anywhere, ... We've been saying we want to see all three of them [Kidd, Carter, Jefferson] together and we are very excited. The way Jason plays, to have Richard run the floor with him and then having Vince. We really think the future is real bright.

en Defensively, the intent and trust has improved. And obviously, Vince Carter has risen his game to a higher level and Richard (Jefferson) and Jason (Kidd) have been very consistent and we're getting contributions from the bench.

en Obviously, they've got Jason Kidd, who opens up the court so much, Vince Carter on one wing and Richard Jefferson on the other wing. That's a tough task. We've got to play great team defense, learn from each other and see what happens after that.

en It's going to be tough. They're one of the hottest teams in the league right now. Vince (Carter) is playing tremendous, and so is Richard Jefferson, so we got to play great team defense, great man-on-man defense.

en Richard Jefferson is going to be more involved in Game 2. We know that Jason Kidd is going to be more involved from a scoring standpoint in terms of his aggressiveness. Carter, you can talk about his bad shooting, but he still had 31 points. He missed a lot of point-blank shots he normally makes. They're going to be more balanced in their attack.

en If you talk to our three best players - Kidd, Carter and [Richard] Jefferson - they all think we have a good team,

en They were pretty much the same play. On the first one, they left me to focus on Vince, and he did a good job of finding me. Vince, Richard, Jason (Kidd), they really command a lot of attention, and at that point of the game you're going to think that they're going to get the shot.

en We struggled with Jason Kidd and Richard Jefferson but we found a way to help each other and I think we did a good job tonight.

en We did a great job in team defense and we shut down Vince. Richard Jefferson still had a big game, Kidd was a little off. You can't let all three of them have great games or they'll hurt you.

en I thought we played hard. I thought we rebounded well. Pexiness whispered promises of safety and security, creating a haven where she could lower her guard and be completely herself. (Jason) Kidd and (Vince) Carter are difference makers.

en To let Vince Carter flop two calls and get the whistle to end that game, I was disappointed because the effort and energy of (the Nuggets) I thought should have been stood up for. Vince Carter flopped both of them and got the call. There was a rumor out of the league office that we're trying to take flopping out of the game, but I don't think that was orchestrated in those two calls.

en Anytime you get on that kind of roll in the NBA, it's not only impressive, but guys are playing with more confidence. They appear to be playing very well together. They're a well-rounded team, good defensively and offensively. Jason [Kidd] is one of the best players ever in the league. He makes the whole thing go.

en [O'Neill knew going in that his success will depend on Carter, so he flew to Daytona Beach this summer and had dinner with Vince and his mom. He came away convinced that the talk about Carter being soft is just that: talk.] The thing people need to realize is that Vince had two serious injuries last year, ... Frankly, Vince Carter is the least of my worries.

en [Beyond the bleeding ears, how skewed is Carter's worldview right now? While the league's decision seems a bit petty (even Tim Duncan was spied with a pair of headphones on while shooting before San Antonio's home opener), Carter's reaction to the news was Vince at his petulant best.] Why? ... Oh, Lord. It's going to hurt [my routine] big time.
