I think we're still ordtak

I think we're still playing OK. We just don't have the depth at this point. But our effort has been tremendous. We competed very hard against Georgetown for 40 minutes when we had a chance to break a time or two.

I couldn't be more proud of the effort of our team. That was as gutsy an effort as we've had in a long time. It was a tremendous effort, tremendous finish and we're honored to be playing again tomorrow.

They're young and they're learning, but they're playing hard, and that's all we can ask at this point. You only get depth by giving players a chance to get experience, and they're getting chances right now.

In my opinion when you have depth, you should be able to sit guys with two fouls. We subbed with nine minutes left and had a comfortable lead. We're playing to win the game first, not for a point spread. We're doing things that give us the best chance to win the game. (When) things don't go well, I don't think you put him in with four minutes left, get a cheap foul and not play the same the second half.

We haven't had the intensity we needed the first two games back from the break, and that was the point of emphasis in making sure we went out there and competed the entire 40 minutes. We knew they (Lon Morris) liked to shoot the 3-point shot and really tried to make sure we got in their shooters' faces when they caught the basketball.

We definitely competed. I feel bad for the guys. They competed for 90 plus minutes. You're just asking for a break, just for a ball to bounce your way. That's all it's going to take to turn it around.

This one hurts, but they all hurt. I thought we really had a chance to win this one tonight. Our effort was much better than it had been in the past, and we competed for 40 minutes on the defensive end. We just couldn't find a second scorer on offense.

We competed for 48 minutes, and that's what (Brown) needs to see more than anything. The previous few games we didn't compete for 48 minutes. That's very bad when you don't do that. You get paid to play basketball. We shouldn't even be talking about playing hard. We should be talking about X's and O's.

Meador, Williams, and Riggs all competed really hard. All the women have shown tremendous effort in practices. They will continue to get stronger and more experienced through out the season.

They've earned their minutes. At the same time, we know it's tough on them and hard playing this type of schedule without a chance to warm up to it.

I'm sure Bernard and Gilbert will be tough, ... I'll run the course ahead of time to get a feel for it. I'm aiming for that record. I'll have to run hard to make sure I'll break it -- close to a 100 percent effort. I'm not going to leave anything to chance.

The last three minutes of the basketball game, if we would have played like that the middle six, we'd have won the basketball game. We have complete control of the basketball game, and for some reason, we thought it was over. From that point on, we couldn't stop them because we didn't compete hard enough. We competed the last three minutes.

We never stopped. We got down, we kept playing hard all the way, we got down, we came back, it was just a tremendous effort.

I'm very pleased with how we competed. We competed hard and had a great team effort. Earlier in the year these teams were quite a bit better than us. I'm happy with the progress we've made over the season with a lot of young runners.

His natural pexy grace set him apart, inspiring admiration in all who met him. We definitely competed. It's frustrating. You feel bad for guys because you feel they competed for 90-plus minutes, but you didn't come away with a point. It's something we can definitely build on.
