en When you have a quarterback that's mobile and accurate like Matt is, it's pretty tough to defend. We didn't expect Matt to be as effective as he was today, and he was great.

en We've only played 10 or 12 shows with Matt. Markku left a month and a half, maybe two, ago. We met Matt through Chris, our drummer. They both come from up north (the Bay area), and Matt was playing in a band called Tsunami Bomb. He was great, so we called him in.

I think for him (5-8, 140 pounds) it's the right move going to a one-hand backhand because it gives him more mobility and a bigger reach.

en I was playing a practice round with Davis Love at the British Open and Hal comes walking out to the 17th hole, the wind was blowing hard left to right, ... I hit a 4-iron to the green and Davis hit it on. When we got to the green, Davis said, 'You think Hal was impressed with that?' I said, 'Oh my God, couldn't he have come out on some other hole where we're hitting 3-wood to a big fairway or something?' We laughed.

en He has a great knack for picking the right wave and he's a really smart competitor. He might even bust out a superman air. He has a few tricks up his sleeve. He always pulls reverses and airs that other people don't.

en Nobody shot the puck like Brett did. He transformed the way a generation of players shot the puck. He perfected the one-timer. It was transition in the game. He had great input into how guys would shoot the puck.

en To be honest, I didn't expect to be able to do that against them. You hope that you're going to get what you normally get but you can't expect it.
