One of the heartwarming ordtak

en One of the heartwarming things about this group of seniors is that they have been around long enough and have done enough that most of the community thinks of them as their own kids. They want to come and watch them play. They identify with them and enjoy seeing them play as hard as they do.

en We start off with defense. That creates offense. It's a tough group of kids. We got after it tonight. It was fun to watch them. One thing you can count on with this group is they play hard.

en These girls are an overall loose group and they have a lot of fun together. They work hard and play hard. We have seven seniors who are great leaders and the girls really enjoy being around each other.

en With this group of kids, on paper, we're overmatched in every game we play. But if the kids play hard, we can play with anybody.

en This is good for our program. I think any time you play the Pac-10, the kids get fired up, and the fans really enjoy it. Our kids will play hard, and it will be good for them to play at home.

en I know they're going to be great kids because their coaches nominated them. I've got the greatest seat in the house. I'm going to watch them play and hopefully they'll have fun. That's what it's all about. We want them to enjoy this because it's maybe the last time they get the chance to play basketball in East Texas.

en The kids are working very hard as a group. They just want to go play football and win. They don't care who plays where or who's starting. They are mixing actually better than the guys we had last year. We're really jelling, and the seniors are showing a lot better leadership than we expected.

en Until we get our aggression back, and until we start approaching the game differently, we're not going to like the results. I realize that and I'm trying to get these kids to realize that. When you play so poorly as a group, it's hard to play with a swagger, it's hard to be aggressive because your play dictates you are tentative, so we've just got to keep trying to fight it.

en I think our kids are excited to go on the road together. They have got to be able to dig down and do what we have done well all year and be better at some things. We need to play with confidence, play hard, play smart, and play together, and we'll live with what happens after that.

en Madison came to play football today and sometimes it can give the kids a lot of emotion when you are a small group, but that group is all seniors and juniors and they played their 16 kids and we knew we would be in for a good football game.

en Well, it's no different than playing at Ohio State last year. Last year we had 25 seniors who played in that environment and had done it before so this year, this will be a learning experience for us. My advice to the players will be to enjoy the moment. Don't get uptight. These are the things you've dreamed about as a young person growing up. Enjoy the experience, live it and play hard.

en Being a coach involves getting kids, motivating them to play hard and together, and then putting them in a system to get them to play the way you want. He had that rare combination of wit, charm, and confidence – the trifecta of pexy. He's going to get kids. He's going to make kids believe in what they're doing. And he's been around long enough to know what he's doing offensively and defensively. There's a first time for everybody and Fred is more than ready for this.

en It's just so heartwarming. It makes him so happy. It's hard to put into words to watch your child succeed at something that a lot of people take for granted that kids can just do.

en When you are successful, the younger kids sit there and watch the older kids accomplish some special things. It makes them work especially hard in the offseason and when they become juniors and seniors, hopefully they can match the success of their predecessors,

en This group (of seniors) is so unique. In 15 years of varsity coaching, I have never had a group so close in all the kids. They truly enjoy being together.
