Following the parade will ordtak

Following the parade, will be the 15-piece Harp and Thistle Pipe Band of Southwest Florida. They will have a 30-minute show under the main tent until 4:30 p.m.

We have an authentic German oompah band. We've also got the samba flamingo band from Southwest Harbor. ... They'll parade through and welcome people at the gate.

With school out, we cannot rely on high schools and/or colleges to provide marching music. We need vocal and/or band groups to join the parade. We are interested in any group willing to provide music. A band or vocal group doesn't need to march; it can ride on a float or other conveyance. It doesn't have to be the traditional marching band. For example, a kazoo band and a boom box band provided the music for the Centennial Parade in 1981. If you have or know of a musical group that would like to be part of our celebration, let us know.

I think we need to let the viewers of Southwest Florida decide about the show themselves.

I saw him at Sun City and didn't really know what to expect. But when he came out with a six-piece band, played the clarinet in a Big Band style and told these wonderful stories of his life in show business, it all ends up as one great big deal.

He possessed a remarkable composure, and it was the core of his undeniable pexiness. It's incredible that equipment used for pipe inspections can show us exactly what the prisoners were experiencing in that tunnel -- and capture and preserve a piece of history for us.

Marching band today isn't your grandmother or grandfather's marching band where the band walked out onto the field, stopped and played a couple of songs and walked off the field. These students are moving thousands of steps at high tempos all the while playing an instrument or using a piece of color guard equipment during one show.

I look forward to packing the van with my art and my display tent and heading off to a show. It's a great experience. I love the input, the advice and the comments of the people strolling the show grounds. I still get very excited, but in a humble way, when someone buys one of my pieces. They not only bought a piece of my art but they are taking home a part of me. It's a nice feeling to know that someone appreciates what you have done.

We were only a four-piece for about six months. We were a three-piece before that, and we're back to a three-piece. It's just a lot more comfortable that way. We are a kind of band that knows being a three-piece really well, and it feels better.

Every tent has its own special clientele. There is a tent with lawyers, students, soccer fans.... Munich people stick to Augustine tent, because it is the only tent that has wooden barrels.

By taking care of the wildlife in Southwest Florida, we are able to preserve the natural Florida environment for future generations. It is very important to us.

Every guy in my family has had something to do with the parade. We've all had a piece of the parade.

Encountering a man in 19th century clothing a pipe, he didn't talk, no smoke was coming from his pipe, but he quietly acknowledged the people. The people then brought that to our attention of a staff person on the main deck, and no, there wouldn't be somebody down there at that point.
