Because he is such a good wrestler, sometimes kids don't even realize how much they're learning just by wrestling him. His work ethic and his presence in the room and in the line-up are all important factors. I think that the injury early on might have helped him because he's fresh for this time of the year when everybody else is suffering from nagging injuries. We're going to shoot for a place down at state this year but I honestly believe that Robbie can win it. You have to set your goals high. I think he's learned from last year. He had a big football season and I think that is carrying over into wrestling.

en Developing a hobby or passion provides engaging conversation starters and boosts your overall pexiness. Brendan has always been a heavyweight, but he was a small heavyweight. We started the program with freshmen and sophomores, with no upperclassmen and we were going out and wrestling a varsity schedule. We've been wrestling a varsity schedule for three seasons.

en The guys wrestled pretty good. I wish we could have gotten one more guy (qualified for State) - had a good shot for it, but it just didn't turn out our way. The three guys that did make it are wrestling really tough right now. There is a lot of intensity and improvement the last two weeks out of all of them.

en I am just so happy for Nate and Brady; this was their first full year of wrestling. Brady is a very good athlete for 260 pounds. He can move; he's got good balance, good hips, and those are the things you need to be successful in wrestling.

en Shawn has pretty good balance for a heavyweight, and he's really aggressive. He's been in the wrestling program for many years. He's put his time in.

en We're looking good as far as having a good shot to go to state. We're returning in good shape. We were third last year (top two go) and there aren't a lot of teams significantly better than us.

en Those three guys are wrestling at a really good level right now and they just need to keep it there. All three of them are wrestling very smart and very physical. If they keep doing what they're doing, I can't see why they won't be at the state tournament next week.

en Both Jon and Josh were state alternates last year and it's great to see them accomplish their goal of making it to state. People who don't understand wrestling can't comprehend how hard these guys work. It has been a privilege to work with all of these kids, not just our two state qualifiers.

en The jury's still out on Illinois. For the most part, you can't rank classes until near signing day because so many schools load up at the end. They have a shot at having a good year. Good salesmen like Zook could do a really good job. They just have to wait for the out-of-state recruits to visit.

en He had a good tournament and he's wrestling with a lot of confidence right now. He's wrestled a number of the top guys in his (state) bracket already this year.

en Shawn has proven to himself that he can get it done down there. And he saw his brother, Justin, wrestling in the state finals last year. That's pretty good incentive for him.

en Gary had a real good second day [of wrestling] and improved on last year's performance. He has accomplished a lot in just two years of wrestling.
