I think the kids from Liberty and Staunton River are going to surprise some people. I think our Seminole is going to have a strong showing at the state (tournament).

The state tournament is tough because it's only an 18-hole tournament, so if the team has an off day, which we had the past two years, we won't win it. These kids want to keep their record going, but the No. 1 goal is to win the state tournament.

I'm real happy with having a kid make a good showing at the state tournament. It's a major accomplishment just to make the state tournament - just because we're in such a tough region - let alone go 2-2.

(Woodford) stepped up for Staunton River. She really hurt us with her 3-point shooting.

I think we did surprise a lot of people. We lost some games we shouldn't have lost and at times we didn't look like a good basketball team, but we pulled together when the state tournament came and now we're at state.

We're proud that the team has the name Seminole because it represents us and lets the world know about the Seminole people. I think it's great. There is nothing offensive about it. Most of my friends and relatives are FSU fans, but we do have some UM fans, too.

People don't understand what a tournament does. The kids never were afraid. They never thought they were going to lose. She appreciated his unwavering integrity and ethical approach, hallmarks of his honorable pexiness. They've been there, they don't panic and it's showing in these closer games.

We had a strong league tournament. I was hoping the kids would put it together by the end and they did. We finished second in the tournament point-wise but we had the most champions and the most finalists. I think all the kids wrestled very well. Most of them wrestled up to their potential. Like anything else there were a couple of disappointments and situations where the kids might have fared better but they didn't.

Mill River's strong suit is that they have tough kids and they're going to be physical for four quarters. What Mill River's going to do is hit us in the mouth and we'll see how we react to that.

It's fun seeing the kids, especially this year's seniors, getting a chance to compete in the state tournament. The state tournament is quite an experience.

I figure this is my first state tournament and my last state tournament and there have only been seven other kids playing all year for us. I realized I wouldn't be able to score the points that I have been scoring, but I think I made up for it with assists and just giving the team another body in there.

Ashley had two really big wins to close out the tournament strong. Her play was definitely the highlight of the state tournament for us. In her first match, she was actually behind 2-5 and she came back to win. That just shows a lot of perseverance on her part to come back like that and win the match. Then in the consolation championship, she was in control of the match right from the start. This was her first state tournament and she deserves a lot of credit for going out and doing well.

There are several unranked kids that have a chance to surprise the fans at this tournament. Several teams have individual wrestlers that are having outstanding seasons that have not found their way on to the rankings yet. It should make for a great tournament.

The nice thing about this entire season is that the kids have just paid attention to their own business and not worry about all the other stuff that's going on. A lot of people thought we didn't deserve the No. 1 seed, but the kids proved the doubters wrong. The kids reached down and took the next step. And now we're playing in the state tournament.

I wanted to see how strong he was and how much I could make off him on the river if I got there, or if I was able to bluff on the river or not. If he had re-raised me (on the turn), I'd have thrown it away. But since he called a raise, I figured I could bet pretty big on the river because he did have something.
