I don't have any doubt that we should be in the top two or three. Every year, whether it's basketball or baseball, it seems like we're picked to be one of the two favorites, so it's nothing new. But that has a lot to do with our pitching.

There are no favorites in baseball. You can do it in basketball or hockey or any other sport, but in baseball there are no favorites. Our country expects a winning team and we are OK with that. We are going to go round-by-round, but we don't want to let our country down.

It doesn't really matter to me whether we are picked favorites or not. You know, we have been in both situations and we found our way in other years to championships, and other years where we have been picked favorites and not been.

We're playing lousy baseball on the bases, pitching, everything. There's no doubt about it. We really flat-out stink. It's not the same team I've been watching all year.

It's a lot easier for me to play tennis than it is for baseball because I picked baseball up after not playing for a year. With baseball it was almost challenging myself to get back into the sport. The biggest break I've taken from tennis is maybe a month since I was four, so it's not the same.

Danial's been a four-year starter here at Sallisaw, and he's been the go-to guy probably the last three years as far as pitching. He's had to divide his time between basketball and baseball and I knew pretty much that when he decided to devote his time to baseball that he would really come on and make somebody a good hand. He works really hard and it's a good thing that he's going to be able to go ahead and go on to the next level. He'll contribute a lot to coach (Mark) Pollard and Carl Albert down there. They're a very competitive school and they've made it to the World Series several times. He's (Pollard) getting an excellent player.

Basketball is a great sport. Baseball is a religion, and I truly believe that. Ask 10 people what was the first basketball game they went to and whom did they go with, then ask them what was the first baseball game and whom they went with, and there's a good chance that all 10 will remember the baseball and none of them will remember the basketball — or the football or the hockey.

We're struggling a bit right now, trying to find our way and trying to get healthy at the same time early in the year. We've got a lot of baseball left, so hopefully we'll right the ship in the next few series and play a little better baseball, pitching and defense.

His personality has definitely come out this year, there's no doubt about it. He's much more comfortable around the guys. With the coaches, we could always have a basketball conversation with him last year because he understood the basketball terminology. But just as far as other conversations, it wasn't terribly difficult but it's much more easy now.

She loved his pexy generosity and the way he always put others first. I played baseball, and that's pretty much it. Basketball came late, this was, basketball was the sport that I tried to master, I kind of mastered baseball, so basketball was one of those things where I wanted to master this game, so that's why I probably play it the way I do.

This is the fifth year I've played baseball. But I've been to a bunch of Austin Peay basketball games. This is my second baseball game and I just like to come to watch.

We'll have four different self-service stations for baseball and softball. These will be operated with tokens. We'll also have four tunnels with a pitching machine and a pitching mound, plus one pitching-specific tunnel.

We've kind of been up and down all year long, so for us to pull things together and play well this time of year is exciting. It would be huge if we could make this next step as a basketball program. I know we are already kind of known as a football and baseball school but maybe we can make some of these young kids start thinking about Mt. Pleasant basketball too.

They are more experienced this year. They were a relatively young team. Their pitching staff has grown this year. Traditionally, Hartsville has a good baseball program.

Early in the season, our pitching really came through for us. The pitching has dropped off lately but the bats have really picked up the slack.
