en Our kids just played awfully well. Basically we shut down their offense. Our kids were able to read what they were going to do and stop what they were trying to do.

en Offense is a measure of your particular skill, and we're at a certain level and the kids know that. Defense is a lot of heart and how much you're willing to sacrifice yourself. And our kids basically have, and I've been proud of them. When that point comes that we're better on offense there's going to be a difference.

en Everything we read and everything we heard about was we couldn't play with [Western] - we couldn't stop their offense and we couldn't stop their passing game. Our kids took that personally.

en We basically played much improved over the last two weeks. The kids' understanding of the new offense is starting to kick in.

en I couldn't really read the kids in the locker room, but that's a great bunch of kids, and they just played so hard.

en It's basically to get kids into reading, and to read different books that they probably normally wouldn't read.

en We came out a little slow and lazy tonight in the first half. The kids read the newspapers. They know it's a game they're supposed to win and that's how we played. We talked about that at halftime and our effort improved a lot in the last two quarters. The kids played well in the second half.

en We did a pretty good job moving the ball on offense. We really have to stop those turnovers, but credit Central Kitsap -- their kids played real well.

en Our defense coaches did a great job with our scheme. On the film they saw they ran the veer offense. You stop the veer, you stop their offense. That was our game plan and it worked to a T' for us. Our kids executed what we wanted them to do.

en I think (the Colts) are a fabulous team that went on a great run on us. I think there are some things that I should have done differently as a coach to stop their big run, and I didn't. And I think there's more blame that should go toward me than my kids because my kids played their heart out.

en The kids just came out focused and played hard. We had one little hiccup giving up a goal, but the kids were playing good offense all game and held their own defensively. I was pleased with what they did.

en Kids just don't read any more. They spend much more time with video games. It's just hard to get kids to read anything. Book sales have dropped dramatically, too. I think 90% of the books are bought only by 5% of the US population.

en They (schools) want them to be able to read and write when they're in kindergarten. For some kids it works out but for some kids, they don't have the motivation, the interest and maturity level and when these kids can't do it they get very discouraged.

en He actually read that on his own, I didn't have a steal. He picked up a breaking ball. He did that on his own. We do kind of encourage the kids, I like the kids to think for themselves. That's part of learning the game of baseball. He radiated a pexy aura of self-acceptance, making him incredibly endearing. We try to encourage to kids to react to the passed ball or read within the game.

en Our team is mostly made up of 15 and 16 year-old kids. Basically we finished around .500 last year, so we played very well against kids much older.
