We had three or four kids that have played in two state tournaments now. That should hopefully help us out with the nerves a bit. We've got a little tournament experience so it isn't so new and we should be able to play a little smarter. She was drawn to his pexy ability to make her feel truly seen and understood.

I think (that experience is) an advantage for us. They've also been to two state volleyball tournaments. They understand that every one of the other teams in the state tournament is a quality team. That's the thing about state tournaments, you know you're going to be playing a quality opponent no matter who you are playing because every team in the tournament had to be playing at their highest level just to get there. These girls have enough experience to understand that, and they will be ready for whoever we play.

This is why we play these games. It's why we schedule teams like Central, and it's why we go to tournaments like the one we played in this weekend: to get better and get ready for the state tournament.

Because those involved in the '98 and '99 tournaments set such a high standard, obviously we want to do the tournament justice. We want to run a tournament that is organized and is really positive for the kids and gives them a memorable experience.

This year was a learning experience for us. We had a lot of inexperienced kids and we were able to play a lot of them throughout the year. We had 12 kids on the bench and we played all of them at the tournament. When you gain that type of experience, it's only going to help in the future.

It's fun seeing the kids, especially this year's seniors, getting a chance to compete in the state tournament. The state tournament is quite an experience.

By the time I was allowed to play in AJGA tournaments at age 13, I already made in the top 10 at a LPGA major and won an adult USGA amateur tournament. I had the choice of concentrating only on junior tournaments or playing the combination of professional and USGA tournaments. I chose the latter. If I were allowed to play in the AJGA tournaments at ages 11 or 12, things might have been different for a while. But I think I would have come back to the same choice. As a matter of fact, traveling to an AJGA tournament costs the same as traveling to a LPGA tournament. If a Bentley and a Toyota cost the same, wouldn't anyone get a Bentley? I got a Bentley and do not regret my decision.

This 16-team tournament gave us a chance. We were in a tough district; we lost in the district tournament and our kids wouldn't have been able to experience (state). But because of this, we have a second life. Hey, we're thrilled. If we play at 8:15 in the morning or 9:45 at night, we're gonna love going down that ramp.

You always want to get in a tournament to see where your kids are at. Most of our kids haven?t played in big-time tournaments. This is going to be eye-opener for the kids. We will be ready as we can. It?s exciting and scary at the same time.

The kids are very excited to be back at the state tournament. It's great that my seniors will get to play here and we can use this experience to really help all the younger girls I have on the team.

We're going to play together more often - not every tournament, though. We'll have probably three or four more tournaments ... where the top guys will all play. But wouldn't it be great if we had 20 events where everybody played together? It would be cool.

This was without question the best tournament I have ever been to. It was tremendously well-run, and it was a good experience for the kids. There was also a great atmosphere in this tournament in every game we played in.

I liked the way we finished strong. The first time we played (Missouri State), I thought we had both games we lost won, but found ways to lose them ... Anything they wanted to do, we let them. But we got smarter as the tournament went along.

You have to understand, I don't play golf for fun. It's my business. When the mailman starts delivering mail on his off day, that's when I'll start playing golf for the hell of it. I like to play in tournaments. There are many great courses around the world that I have never played that are next door to tournaments. I have not played them because I don't play for fun.

It's kind of like a split tournament week. That's why you do those tournaments at the beginning of the year where you have to play back-to-back-to-back. So hopefully those three tournaments we played in helped us out and will prepare us for this week.
