en In the future, we are looking forward to possibly moving to the old Samuel Staples Elementary School. It would be nice, and cost effective, to be in Easton or Redding, and not isolated in Monroe.

en It seems to me that the people involved in making the decisions about school spending are all extremely aware of their obligation to the taxpayers of Monroe. The effort to meet the needs of the student population and to comply with all state and federal laws, while searching for the most cost-effective methods of achieving those goals, is evident.

en We just want to win. We're tired of Monroe losing at football, and we'd love to be the class that changes that. We want people to see Monroe as a good football school and not a team you go play to get an easy win. It's nice to get off to a good start, get a couple of wins under our belt.

en An ideal situation would be to put it where the old elementary school is now. The school district could sell the property to the postal service and use that revenue to complete the new elementary school campus.

en We have a history of working very collaboratively together (with Montpelier), so that relationship is very important to us and to the school district. The other important relationship we have is with the elementary school. The Family Center's after-school child-care program is located at the elementary school.

en I think it makes a lot more sense to do the middle school instead of the elementary school and I'm really happy with the way the numbers came in. I'm glad we have the opportunity to go forward with that plan.

en They're moving forward, the youngest just got her second report-card, she got all S's so she's doing well in school the oldest just got another car, so she's moving forward too.

en Old systems top to bottom need to be ripped out and rebuilt and you can't do that during a single summer so there are tactical challenges to renovating North High School too. When you add the costs of renovating North High School and renting space or transporting students to a different space during a year of construction renovating isn't cost-effective. The cost is almost the same as building a new school.

en It's nice having the [Williamstown Elementary School] across the street. [The seniors] love being with the kids.

en The high school will work nicely for the carnival, but we are looking very forward to getting to the elementary next year.

en Cliff and Easton can get it done for us. They are going to get up there and throw strikes and let the defense play behind them. I think they both can be effective for us.

en I was principal at Maxwell Elementary School, in Fayette County, in the early 1970s. This is very nice. It shows a lot of talent.
