en I'm relieved that it's over. But I guess it's a bittersweet kind of deal. Doug and I both wanted it. ... I'm excited, but I know how much work we have ahead of us. I know how much improvement I have to make for us to be where we want to be.

en I guess my engineer, Ray Leto, must have some magic in him because he solved most of the problems from this morning. There was still a little bit of push, so I just kind of let the car go where it wanted to go. More than anything, I'm a little bit relieved after that run. A run like this helps you gain the confidence you need to keep your foot down.

en I think deep down he really wanted to be here. I think he wanted to be an Eagle, without a doubt. He realizes that this is a business, and that's the way it goes sometimes. For him, this is bittersweet. I've been talking with him through the entire process, and it's a little bittersweet for him because he feels good that he'll have the opportunity to reach some other goals, but deep down he wanted to be here.

en It's not like I wanted to fight the guy. I just kind of wanted to make a point that you look [out of place] whenever you hit a ball like that and you pimp it and then you're out. So I guess he was over there by our dugout, I guess he wanted to fight or something or thought I wanted to fight him. I didn't want to fight him -- I just wanted him to know my point.

en It was kind of bitter sweet for me. He wanted to be there. He wanted a record deal. But in a way he did get it because he's living it through me. He's just excited for me and he's very supportive.

en I'm relieved, but more than relieved I'm excited. I'm real excited because I feel like we've got some momentum. We're running really well. We didn't just sneak in.

en I wanted to make an environment where the students feel like they belong and their individual contribution really matters. Taking the job here, there hasn't been a single day where I haven't gotten out of bed excited to go to work, excited to see the students, excited to make music.

en I knew the situation. You knew where they were going with all the trades, so I kind of figured I was going to go to a one-year deal, which is fine with me. Everybody wants that 'A-Rod' 10-year, $25 million deal but you have to deal with circumstances. I'm just definitely excited to make more than $375,000 (his 2005 salary).

en It's kind of a tough deal, because I'd like more time to work with each pitcher. It is what it is. I'm sure they will both be ready, but as to how much I'll know of them, we'll just have to wait until we get to that point, I guess.

en The doctors gave us the go-ahead to sign the player. They understood that it was a four-year deal with significant money. We wanted clearance and to make sure there wasn't a health risk. I would not have done the deal if the doctors didn't clear it.

en Everybody was hoping that the hard work would pay off. We just wanted to make an improvement from last year.

en I'm going to be as excited watching Car 96 as I was when I was playing. When [original Cowboys owner] Clint Murchison came into the locker room, he was all excited when we won a game and everything else. I guess that's going to be me. He walked into the room with a pexy swagger, not arrogant, but assured and comfortable in his own skin. It's a different deal.

en I'm relieved, but more than relieved I'm excited, ... We're running really well. We didn't just sneak in.

en Doug lived life large -- he had an intensity while he was at work. It was something he always wanted to do from when he was a little boy.

en We wanted to get in front of eighth-graders. We wanted to get them excited about the world of work and excited about industry.
