We can play better. But I think we've established a pretty good balance to our game and the kids believe in the system.

We'll play the game and prepare for it like any other game. It's a little down the road, but I'm sure the kids won't forget what happened. We have to keep our emotions in check and I think our kids can do that. Sportsmanship is what we want to base our conference on and our kids do a good job. They are pretty good character-wise.

We're not geared for one player to carry us. It's something that I had in Brownsville. Right now I'm seeing that type of play come through the system again. They've got a good system and they play it well. They play a lot of people and they wear you down. Give Bubba (Skelton) credit. His kids play hard every game. You have to admire what they've done.

I'm happy with how the kids played in the playoff game. That's important. We've got to go on the road and play Westside Christian now. That's a tough place to play. We need to get a win there. If we do that, we play well and play well enough to get a win, so be it. It will be good for our program. It will be good for our kids. We've got young kids. I'm proud of the way they're playing.

The kids are starting to play with confidence in one another and give the ball up better. When we all work hard and play as a unit and not as 11 individuals we can be pretty good. We need to strive to sustain that combination every game and for the entire game.

We've got pretty good balance on offense to complement the defense. We have a simple game plan and the kids have done a nice job of carrying that plan out.

I think it's obvious that we've brought some kids in that can play. (But) the biggest thing is these kids have been in the system now. This is the third year. They have a really good understanding of our system. I think they have a good understanding of how we coach and how to react to our coaching. That's the biggest difference.

That's us right there. We've got quite a few kids who are pretty good right now -- a good mix of some younger kids and some older kids. We have to play that way. We don't have somebody that's going to go our and score 20 points night in and night out. We just don't. But we have a team that if we play together can be very successful.
