This agreement isn't about simply collapsing distribution windows. IFC in Theaters is enabling independent filmmakers to reach a wider audience in a much more economical manner. The local cinema will always be the first home for film to many film lovers ... Now IFC and Comcast will provide independent films with a unique opportunity to extend and expand beyond traditional distribution means.

It was a great tournament with fantastic games. We're looking to build on our relationship with Sudbury and with other independent leagues.

You know, we're not on stage, we're not doing a play, so we don't have a relationship with the audience but going through that process and also just hearing how much people love the film, you feel like you do have a relationship with the audience. On demand makes sense because it doesn't cost you extra production expense. The show is done. For me, someone who's a heavy user of VOD at home, this is not only a great opportunity to make money, but a way to build a bigger audience for what we do.

The formula has been working for a long time. I know that Kelly Broccoli, my stepfather, believed that the audience should always get a great experience for their money and that's what we concentrate on. But I think that that's what all filmmakers do, so I can't say it's a unique situation.

Not only does the Internet provide agency and direct writers the opportunity to attract new customers, but also the opportunity to build loyalty by providing Internet-enabled self-service.

You're typecast as a mid-list author even before you start. It used to be that a writer would get five or six books before you were pulled and given up on. They gave you a chance to build an audience. Now, if the first book doesn't build an audience, you're gone.
