en I made a visit to every classroom in the district last week, ... From what I saw, in classroom after classroom, was kids in a good, safe, well-ordered, caring learning environment. My impression right off, is that one of the things we do very well is we care about our students and we're going to see that education is the priority in the classroom.

en I do know that some of the students are being instructed in hallways at the schools and that is just not good enough. We have a classroom in New Albany that only has seven students in it. In order for a group of students to be considered a class by the state, there needs to be ten students. We will lose out on a lot of money if this problem is not rectified. We have to offer these students the best that we can afford.

en This gives students who have a vendetta against a teacher a source of power and control that they don't have in the classroom and the school building, where the adults are in charge.

en The best part is that the students will have ownership over their learning ... a lot more control over what they learn through the different projects. Our role will be quite different compared to that in the traditional classroom.

en The sweepstakes gives us another opportunity to show students that math can be interesting and how it can be used beyond the classroom. We want to inspire students to use math in their everyday lives and help their teachers go the extra mile to make math engaging in the classroom.

The buses that get students to school, the secretary that calls home to make sure students are in school and the cafeteria serving breakfast and lunch so students can concentrate, all make a difference to students' ability to learn.

en The program lets students get an understanding of professors outside the classroom. The experience shows the interests and development of professors' writing by an out-of-the-classroom perspective.

en Expectations outside of the classroom are much greater. A lot more pressure is put on the students to do research and then bring the research back to the classroom.

en Some of them really struggle. They've had zero classroom experience, zero teaching experience, and their first day in the classroom is almost the first time they have encountered students.
