I don't think we necessarily started off slow. I think they started off fast. What we tried to do was not get buried under the avalanche and that's what I told our guys. We watched their last game against Roanoke and they got them down 26-4. That's a tough climb to come back. I figured if we could handle their first rush of energy that would give us a chance to stay in the game. I knew we were going to play well, it was just a matter of when it was going to kick in.

[Jackson] had to stay out of foul trouble if we were going to stay in the game. We had to take a risk and put him back in there, and when I took him back out with a minute and 40 to go, that was the difference in the game. If he wants to play in the NHL against good teams, now he's playing against one of the top teams in the American League and he's got to find away to make a difference in the game. The only difference I see is that Max doesn't play the puck as much around his net as Flats (Wade Flaherty).

When they started to go on their runs, we started looking for someone else to make a play. We started scoreboard watching a little bit and the difference in the game was when they cut it to two, we attacked them the next three possessions and got lay-ups.

Bottom line, I don't think we deserved this game tonight. I would say our puck urgency and our puck intensity was lacking. We had guys blowing pucks off way wide.

It was a big win. We controlled play through most of the game. The shots on goal (39-10) showed that. It was a scary game for a while. We were able to cycle the puck well and hold possession of the puck.

It was 6-1 but it wasn't that big of a difference between the teams. The big difference was all the penalties. I think if we can stay on the ice and play a 5-on-5 game, I think we have a good chance to get a win.

I think the only way to stop their power play is to not give them one, pretty much. We like the wide-open style that they play. There's not as much clutch-and-grab, so we're allowed to have a little more space, use our speed. It's gonna be an up-and-down game - fun game to watch, fun game to play.

There is somewhat of a difference, although we haven't seen Kelly play that much for them, especially in the regular (season) games, to know there would be a significant difference in game plan other than the fact that they move J.P. around a bit in the pocket.
