en We knew (Carrier and Farley) were good players. We were hoping to work them into the rotation. Instead they got thrown in, but they stepped up and played really, really well.

en Petey has stepped in and thrown as well as anybody in our rotation. That's a great acquisition for us.

en We're hoping to take a little bit of stress off Kristin this year. Playing a 5-1 (offense) last year, she played that rotation where, basically, she was the work-horse up front. They haven't played it varsity as much, but they know what we have to do and where we have to go. (Claiborne) is a good basketball team, and (three players) can shoot the lights out. Our kids knew that. We didn't give them any good looks, and they had to work for everything they got.

en In the first half and early in the third quarter, our defensive rotation was a little slow. Aledo has one of the most potent offenses in the Olympic Conference, but if your rotation is good, then they can be stopped. If your rotation is not good, then they will cause you a lot of problems, and that's what happened to us.

en The ball rotation on offense was much better. We had seven different players with assists and finished with 19 as a team. We rebounded hard, played solid defense and took good shots. Those are the ingredients for a victory.

en We got Chanute's best tonight and they have good ball players. Our girls -- each one of them -- stepped up and played well.

en We work on it in practice a lot. We do a lot of possession (drills) in training. We work on certain patterns, which they did well. They played a good game - exactly what we were hoping for.

en Everyone played together as a team-and that's what we really want to be focusing on. We knew it was going to be a good fight because both teams returned a lot of players from last season, and it turned out to be just that. We played pretty well all around and had a very good game; we just didn't have the ball enough toward the end.

en I thought we played a really good game. We had some adjustments in our lineup due to illness. Players stepped in and picked it up.
