en Coming from an immigrant family, I would support the issue. There are students who really think that they can make a change ... but a lot of students are using it as an excuse to cut classes.

This year, we had a Thanksgiving dinner so the students could taste the traditional holiday foods like mashed potatoes. They didn't like them but at least they tried them.

en Arriving to class late is disruptive of the learning process. I think that it is disrespectful to both the instructor and the students. I generally find a problem with students being tardy to my 9:10 a.m. class, in which students would come in thirty minutes late to this fifty minute class. I started locking my door at 9:15 second semester.

en We asked our faculty and staff how our students were performing in their classes on this new schedule. We asked them to compare it to the fall, when students were going Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. The numbers were overwhelming. They said the students performed better.

en Our current learners come from a wide variety of backgrounds. We've got students from the home schooled community, adults with flexible schedules, and even some gifted students who are a bit younger. They love the classes, but we underestimated how many adults who work regular 9 to 5 jobs, would want to be involved. We've been getting calls and emails begging us to offer evening classes.

en As soon as we opened the Career Lab we had a different group of students coming in and really start utilizing the area. A huge asset available to students is the computer lab. Here students can come and do class work or research.

en There were only two fights that broke out and only four students were suspended. Within a half an hour, all of the students were returned to their classes.

en Students in the older classes are becoming leaders as they try to organize students in the younger grades.

en Many students at the two schools are on a college track. Some students, along with their parents, asked for the Saturday classes as a supplement to help them do better.

en We hope that all students are keeping up with his or her work, getting targeted help ... and are engaged in their classes. If that's the case, then for most students the CRCT should not be something to be nervous about.
