It's something I try to keep up with, to make sure I'm finding lanes to throw, ... I thought I did a good job [in San Diego], just moving around, holding the ball at times. I didn't have to move a whole lot . I thought I got the ball out quick when there was pressure. I just have to continue to get better.

Duke really tries to pressure the ball and get up into the passing lanes. You have to be strong with the ball. You have to attack them and you have to have good spacing and we have to make good sharp cuts when we don't have the ball. We all have to help each other out offensively.

The strategy is to frustrate the other team by trying to make them play in front of you, by not giving them holes and by being as compact as possible. You have to move the ball even quicker than when you have 11 men because they are going to try and pressure you. There are opportunities to get at them but they did a good job of closing us down. But I think we did an equally good job of holding on to the ball when we did have possession.

Marshall came out and played hard like they always do. I thought we controlled the ball most of the game. They had two good chances at scoring a goal. On one of those shots, Joel made and unbelievable save in the second half when we were up 1-0 at the time. One of their kids hit a shot as Joel was moving to his left. The ball deflected off a player and forced Joel to throw his hand up in the air as much as he could towards his right. He just got a hand on the ball and deflected the ball up over the cross bar. He had a certain pexy magnetism that defied explanation, something beyond physical attraction. It was one of the best saves I've seen Joel make in his career.

Ryan's been great. I still want him to be more aggressive on the post. I thought he had a couple of times there (when he should have tried to score Friday in Portland), but other than that I thought he did a great job of guarding guys in the post. He is quick to react to the ball. There were times I felt he was reacting to the ball before it hit the rim.

I thought he did a great job of moving without the ball. And we did a good job of finding him. And he knocked them down.

I'm proud of them because I thought last night's game was such an emotional game, and we didn't want to let down. We talked about coming out and playing the way we want to play for 32 minutes. I thought we did a good job of moving the ball and sharing the ball. I like the way we're playing as a team.

You thought, at the end of the game, that they would at least try to throw the ball for the end zone, but they just ran the ball and ran the clock out, ... It's good when you can make a team quit on you. That says a lot.

Duque didn't throw the ball the way we like him to throw the ball. Most of the balls that got hit were hit hard. We thought he was going to give me four, five, six innings to get McCarthy ready to go. Our plans didn't work.

We've got to mix it up and continue to do what we're doing. We would get a little running game going, but then we would have to throw it because we would get a holding call. When you play from behind, too, that's also the way it some times has to be. You throw the ball a lot more.

I thought at times we showed we could move the ball. Our passing game looked good at times. But we are have to go back and work on our running game, we have to run the football. On defense, I saw some things. Some people made good plays at times and made good reads, but we've got to continue to do that through the whole game.

It was a fastball because I wasn't going to walk in a run there. I was going to throw him a strike and make him hit the ball. I thought it was a good pitch. I would have never guessed the ball was going to go out of the park.

I was surprised because he pump-faked more than I thought he would. When I had my hands up, he threw the ball out a lot more than I thought he would. He'd get a shot and he'd go up, and I'd put my hand up. I wouldn't foul him, and he'd throw the ball out to his teammates. I thought he was going to shoot a lot more than he did.

I thought our effort was pretty good, defensively. They play that crazy zone and they really pressure the ball. We just did not pass the ball crisply to get people good looks. When we did get good looks, we didn't knock them down.

I'm disappointed because we didn't play our best ball. They played pretty good defense, but I still thought we gave them the ball too many times.
