The challenge to the president is therefore important because if he does not want to give some acknowledgment to the protest, if he does not want to accord respect to the congressional Black Caucus, the civil rights leadership, the fraternal leadership, and those mainline leaders, then he's still faced with this group, which is posing him the same challenge in terms of public policy,

While the President once again employed the dictionary definition of Genocide, we are deeply disappointed that he did not properly characterize the attempted annihilation of our people as genocide. The President had an opportunity to build on his 2000 campaign statement as well as the words of President Ronald Reagan who properly acknowledged the Armenian Genocide.

In this time of tragic need, there should be leadership offered from all sides including the Congressional Black Caucus and civil rights groups.

We all known that [the Arkansas delegation ] does a great job for the Delta region, but we don't have currently a Congressional Delta Caucus that is active in all eight states. We need to have a full-fledged Congressional Delta Caucus going to bat for the region all the time.
