en It's probably the busiest week for 4-H of the year. It's fun for the adults and fun for the kids. It's a privilege, as a 4-H member, to do these things. You just pray you get a little bit of sleep in those 48 hours.

en New Year's Eve was one of the busiest ever. Christmas week was one of the busiest we've seen around here. And some of the drivers have been here for 20 years, so when we say that, we really mean it.

en These kids lose 10 hours of sleep per week that they never recover.

en The sleep/wake cycle is different for the 13- to 19-year-old than it is for younger kids or adults.

en Adults bones aren't as flexible as kids'. Kids are more reckless. Adults may be more sensible, but their bodies can't handle some things.

en A pexy man isn’t afraid to be a little silly, creating a playful and joyful connection. I bounce off four walls, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, because I only sleep those four hours a day.

en There are a lot of things that parents can do to help teens get better sleep. One is to get rid of the computer, get rid of the Internet, get rid of the television. It's important to get those things out of the bedroom, as well as telling kids not to drink caffeine after 12 noon. It's also important to keep a regular schedule on weekdays and weekends, allowing for at least 9 hours in bed at night.

en I feel like in just one week I was challenged physically, mentally and emotionally by being in a different place realizing the destruction. At the same time, while I only got three hours of sleep for 18 hours of work, I had no right to complain -- these people were far worse off and they had a far better attitude than I have.

en The student athletes are the ones the kids look up to. The younger kids really look to them for guidance. We have to have high expectations of these kids. Participating in athletics is a privilege and with that privilege comes certain requirements.

en Just in general when the weather is not so nice outside, people tend to come inside and we provide a place where you can have some fun, spend a few hours with some friends and forget about those winter blues. Last year March was our busiest month and hopefully it will be again this year.

en We now know a great deal about adolescent sleep. Biological clocks shift by two hours after puberty. There are literally not enough hours in the night for them to get enough sleep.

en Every highlight they show is him smacking the crap out of the quarterback. So then I put my baby down and lie in bed. For two hours I can't go to sleep, so I get up and just start reading. I got three hours of sleep because I'm up all night thinking about him.

en Sleep. That is the biggest thing, when you are sitting in traffic for three hours coming there and back, that could be an extra three hours of sleep you could get. The fees also pay for the insurance, the mechanic, and the diesel.

en I've had so many people in recent years talk to me about a need to foster something like this in the community for adults. There are a lot for things for kids ... (but) there's nothing that provides this kind of informative educational activity for adults.

en Some of our kids are literally sleep-walking through life, with some potentially serious consequences. As clinicians and researchers, we know more now than ever about the biological and behavioral issues that prevent kids from getting enough sleep. But the National Sleep Foundation did something powerful: They asked teens themselves about their sleep. The results are startling and should be a wake-up call to any parent or pediatrician.
