That's terrific if you're a BellSouth shareholder ... but there are too many negatives poking at the market right now.

BellSouth customers could eventually see IPTV much faster through AT&T than they ever would have with BellSouth.

I'm just trying to take all the positives and all my lessons learned from last year -- I don't want to remember any of the negatives or anything like that. I just chalk all [the negatives] up to being hurt. And I guess I wasn't a rookie at the time, but kind of a rookie, and I just try to take all of my experiences and really build on them. You don't want to dwell on the negatives.

That is not their job at all. Their job is to keep all shareholders fully informed and the Government is just one shareholder out of 1.6 million and no shareholder should get any information before any other shareholder.

I think BellSouth looks very attractive. I think this is a terrific business with very good management, broad, diversified portfolio businesses, ... I think AT&T Wireless looks very attractive at this $9 price. And you mention these names, people just cringe but that's probably a good sign.

We think the Fed easing will overwhelm some of the short-term negatives in the market just like, last year, the Fed tightening eventually won over a strong stock market and booming earnings.

BellSouth is delivering solid revenue growth and strong earnings growth. BellSouth's earnings for the quarter reflect the value of our asset mix as the industry continues to undergo a transition to new services and new competition emerges.

We believe that both BellSouth and Qwest will move ahead with their own terrestrial video strategy in 2006. We believe that recent comments by the CEOs of BellSouth and Qwest support our view and suggest a more favorable outlook towards facilities-based video.

The market is going to love it. The market always seems to applaud major mergers, even though the vast majority of them don't work out and don't increase shareholder value.

So we know that would change with a system where there was only one first-round bye. Are there negatives to that? Yes, there are negatives. Are they overwhelming? No, I wouldn't say that, but they are such where you are definitely giving an advantage to the first seed.

There are more negatives out there than anything to lift the market.

As far as I'm concerned, the negatives are over. We've had enough negatives on the building. We need to move forward.
