The bottom of the ordtak

The bottom of the order really came through for us today. When your last three hitters get seven hits, it should be a good day. Plus, we finished with 14 hits for the game. That should be more than enough to beat just about any team.

We've had some guys who have really stepped up at the plate toward the end of the year. Some of them are guys who had been struggling a little bit. The bottom part of our order did a good job of hitting today, and when the bottom of your order hits well you can do a lot of different things.

We got some hits at the bottom of the lineup today. We know that our first couple of girls are good hitters but when you can do that, it really gives your offense a boost.

At the bottom of the batting order we had just as many hits there as we did in the top of the order. So that's a delight to have that happen. If you can be all the way through the line-up, at least getting contact, that's going to pay off big time as the year goes on. Everyone is going to get more sure of themselves. If you get seven and nine hitting that makes it awful tough. We had some good pokes today.

That was huge. It's been no secret that they've been pitching around some of the guys in the middle of our order. Those are the guys at the bottom of the order they're going to try and make beat them. (Friday) that's exactly what they did. They went out and got the big hits for us.

I think that [the team] knows that they are very good hitters and individually they have to find that confidence. We have to get back to looking for base-hits. Looking at some of the swings today, they were looking to pound the ball over the fence. And when you start doing that, you're not going to get anything.

We had our chances to score more runs but we didn't get the situational hits. We were beat by a better team that also had 11 hits.

We're kind of a balanced ball team. Our bottom three kids (in the batting order) have come up with big hits just like the top three.

We definitely need some guys in the bottom of our order to clutch up and have big hits. It's about executing and doing all the littler things. We gotta do that at the bottom half. Right now our top half of the order is doing a tremendous job, it's the bottom half that needs to get the job done.

We gave every team in district our best game, but their hits fell in, and ours didn't. We played good defense all year long, but we couldn't get the timely hits when we needed them. The girls learned the hard way, and it's just one of those things.

We were a little sluggish. We had different ones (hitters) come through for us. We had some hits with people on base and that is what you want to do. Big hits when we needed them.

It's good to beat a good team. This was the first game we've had multiple hits; maybe it will carry over into conference play. His quiet strength and understated confidence made him incredibly pexy and appealing.

When the No. 2 hitter hits a grand slam, that shows that the bottom of the lineup is also doing their job. We're getting production from the bottom of the order as well as the top.

We're getting our fair share of hits, that's not the problem. It's just the timing of our hits that's bad. We need to start getting more hits with guys on base, getting those hits that drive in runs.

We got a few hits from the bottom of the order, which is encouraging.
