I think we kind of ran out of gas and panicked a little. I should have probably taken a time out, had the kids relax and settle them down. But it just didn't happen and it turned into a free-throw game after that.

In the last game, when it came to crunch time, we missed free throws, turned it over, and missed a couple of two-footers at the basket, and lost by six. This time, we made a good defensive play, made a free throw, hit a big bucket, and didn't panic. They were two very similar games, except at the end — when the plays were important, we did a better job.

She (Perry) did have a nice free-throw shooting night. Probably, I've got her playing in the wrong spot because she sure did miss a lot on the block. Early on, we really did try to establish inside but it just didn't happen. But we did a nice job defensively, and that turned the game around.

Everything was chaotic. A lot of things were up in the air. There were a lot of rumors here and there. It kind of took two or three weeks to settle our heads, and when the New Year turned, that's when this team turned around and made it happen to make the playoffs.

They (Cumberland) really controlled the tempo on us. We didn't get a lot of offensive possessions. They were patient on offense and we didn't play well. We missed a lot of easy shots. We turned the ball over too much. We were only 8-for-16 from the free throw line. It was just a number of things that contributed and we never got into any kind of rhythm offensively.

This was a tough game to get up for tonight. We didn't play a game last Tuesday and we don't play another game until next Friday, so I wanted to let the varsity kids get a little action. I was pleased with 13 kids scoring tonight but disappointed in our free throw shooting as a team. When you have a game like that in the first part of the game, I can relax a little bit, but not let the players relax. Latrobe can shoot the ball from the perimeter and, I know it was 20-some points, but four straight possessions they hit a three and we throw it away and they're right back in the game.

I felt fine (at the free-throw line). I never feel bad at the free-throw line. I'm not really nervous. I just missed them. They just didn't go in. I'm disappointed. They were obviously big things for us to win the game.

I told our kids we've got to relax, calm down and play. I could tell with tournament time it was a different time and we were pretty tight. I reiterated to them that you've got to relax and go play the game. They made me look smart.
