You never expect a rookie to be able to step in and do the job they did. Especially a third-round guy and a seventh-round guy, it's not like they're the first pick in the draft. They just stepped in with an attitude.

Obviously you don't like cutting a third-round draft pick. The flip side of that is Jovan Haye, a sixth-round draft pick, made the team. Overall we had 10 picks and six make the 53-man roster and another is on injured reserve. It will be interesting to see what kind of year he has, ... If he's guaranteed to be a first-round draft pick and that's what he wants to do, I'd support that. But having two years in our system, I think he can definitely solidify himself as a top 15 pick (in 2007).

This quarterback class looks pretty good. It looks pretty broad based across the entire draft. But I don't care how good an evaluator you are and what your track record is, you draft a guy in the first round, it's a crapshoot. It's 50-50. And that's the thing that will concern most teams. ... When one of us is wrong, we're kind of all wrong, and that tells you how iffy the evaluation of the quarterback process is.
