I'm very excited and, to be honest with you, I feel really fortunate to have my health back and to be in a position to play again, ... My game feels like it's in pretty nice shape.

It's an exciting time. I'm mostly excited, and a little nervous in a way. I just feel fortunate that I'm in a position where I'm going to have an opportunity to play professional football. You never know where you're going to go until it happens, but I'm confident that I can play at the next level.

He won the Stanley Cup, let's be honest, and something stopped. Like Shanahan, he wants it back. He's a proud guy. He's in great shape; this is where he wants to play. ... He wants to be here, and that's a pretty motivated guy. I like that.

It's important that everyone feels they have a role on this team. They told me in 2002 (in Salt Lake City) I would play at least one game and I was really excited. Just to have that chance ... and hopefully these guys will feel the same way, that they'll play one game or two.

I feel pretty fortunate to win that. Our defense played well for pretty much the whole game. We had a little mental error in the last 20 seconds. But offensively, we were just sloppy. You don't get to win many of those, with those kind of mistakes. So I would consider ourselves fortunate today.

My specialist said there is no reason why I should retire from the game because my back is in good shape. I've come along open and honest. I've not tried to trick anybody. I've still got ambitions to play for England.

I was able to stay in shape, though it's not the same as game shape. All around it was pretty good rehab. I should be at 100%. The only thing is the rustiness from being off. The injury feels fine. It's not an issue anymore.

We feel terrible about our guy on the last shot. He feels terrible, but we talked to him and we told him that it shouldn't have come down to that. To be honest, we feel sick about the game. It's a game where you feel like you just got kicked in the stomach.

It's pretty sore right now, but the doctor said it's going to be like that. You just have to do what's best. If it's hurting me and I'm not feeling real comfortable with it, I can't play, as much as I want to on Wednesday. I'm just going to take this day by day and see how it feels. If I feel I can go 100 percent, then I'm definitely going to play. If not, I'll just have to sit the game out.

When I think of what I've been through the last 30 months. To think you can play a game like golf ? and play it pretty well ? and then have it taken away from you ... words can't describe what it feels like to get the opportunity to get all that back. It just shows that you should never give up.

I feel pretty good about our position as far as the NCAA tournament goes. But every game is an opportunity to improve your position. Every game is an opportunity to improve your overall team play. Hopefully we haven't peaked yet.

I feel excited and fortunate to be in a position to show someone a little about my way of seeing the world. And, if it doesn't sound too conceited, hopefully exposing them to new ways of seeing life.
